GD bro its when you put LED bulbs in.your car thinks the bulb is out so it will flash really quick like every car will when a brake light or turn signal is out.it sucks cause its really fast and annoying

Here's a picture of my modified relay.

As you can see, the trace you need to interrupt is to the upper left of the 8pin chip.

As for a whole how-to w/pics, just copy and paste the enire post into Word or similiar. Then save it so you have it.

Has it been confirmed that the 00 and 01 relays are different than the 02 and up relays?

Bummer. Seems like us '00s usually get the short end of the stick.

If someone is interested in making this fix for the 2000 relay, I will donate my old one.

Just change out the capacitor in your relay to one with a higher uF like I did with my relay. It's really quite easy to do and this fix won't help you with those boards...you'll still blink way too fast.

I'mma have to do that. Because.... I don't wanna just hack into stuff. I might need that later. And this way seems more professional. AND... Just cause.

Thanks for the great info, this is probably the easiest way to stop the ricer flashing.
I did however discover that if I have my parking/headlights turned on and I put on my right blinker it just stays solid and doesn't blink. But if I don't have my lights on and I signal then it works fine. Did anyone else run into this problem?

I am having that problem (almost), but I don't think it's the flasher mod causing it.

On my car...lights off, everything works. Lights on, flashers work, left turn signal stays solid, right turns signal works in front, solid in rear.

From what I can tell so far, the MFS is going bad. Pretty common for our cars.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Had a similar problem on the 1gn. (without the flasher mod) Took the MFS apart, and cleaned everything, fixed the turn cancel spring, and it seems OK so far.

Do not take the MFS apart on either version unless you have tons of patience, and are creative at getting things in their place to reassemble it. On 1gn's, the tricky part is getting the high/low beam switch back in. If you don't get it right, you have no headlights.

Update on the turn-signals-not-working-with-the-headlamps-on-problem.

I bought a MFS off Mike. His was a 2005 with around 20K on it. Turn signals still acted the same. Looks like the flasher is to blame.

So I did some more digging. I found a flasher by Grote that is made for LEDs. Great! Well, not so much. T/S worked, but as soon as I turned on the 4 ways, it buzzed and died. Blew the hazzard fuse under the hood as well.

I'm hoping it is just a case of a bad relay. As it is now I have no turn signals when my lights are on. Oh, and I am running only LEDs in my car now. 315 on the outside alone.

the only relay that will work in the MFS is the one that comes with our cars........

as far as why turn signals dont always work.......its because there's not enough load on the circuit to register in the relay...my car's left turn signal would half work most of the time because the led bulb in my gauge cluster died.....apparently that 1/2W was enough to make the turn signals not work anymore..... i have since put normal bulbs back in my headlight turn signals and the problem has disappeared.....for some reason our cars just dont like ALL led setups...
