Oh.

I have heard / read bad things about the 'load resistors'...... because they get very hot.

I couldn't agree more bro. I know how hot they get, i've seen then in action. However these i posted that are on ebay... they have their own casing for a cooling fin and you MUST NOT attach it to anything other than metal OR build something where it is suspended freely and won't move around to hit anything. I'm literally going to just zip tie it to metal. *zip tying the 2 holes that are on the case*

Not sure about the 2gn flasher, but the 1gn capacitor is 100 uF 25 volt 85ºC #N9834

Now to determine the increase in uF to slow it down...

Well, not much help for 2gn's, but this works great for a 1gn.

CF14 Electronic Car Flasher Relay

From what I can tell from the wiring schematic, you definitely need a 4 pin flasher for the 2gn's.
