OK I have a 2005 sxt model neon with 15" wheels (stock wheels) If I were to upgrade to the srt-4's stock wheels(17" wheels) would I have to get an alignment and also would my speedometer have to be re-calibrated?

Changing wheels wont require you to get an alignment. Just make sure the wheels are balanced if anything and about the same treadwear for the front tires (in particular). Yeah want to stick with the lower profile tires on SRT wheels because it will hit the spring perch.

Has anyone tried a set of 215/45/17's with these on a 2gn? Will they clear the struts?

For sure I got brand new tires on them at 21,000 miles...and I just broke 27 the other day, and I had them rotated around every oil change so they are still in really good condition. But I'll make sure to let you know...

I just want to follow up on this question, as I am looking at 17" rims my self.......
assuming you have SRT struts, will the stock srt rims and tires rub against the rear tension struts? they are slightly different on the srt from what I've understood, as they srt ones allow for bigger wheels and tires.....
also, could you possibly replace a stock neon VSS (vehicle speed sensor) with that of an srt, therefore keeping the speedometer and odometer accurate?
sorry for the thread hijack lionheart

the srt struts will let you run the stock srt rims with srt tires i think 205/50/17 with no problem... nothing should rub. you wont need to replace any sensors, your speedo might be off by just a smidge... i dont know much about the sensors, not sure if it would even do anything..

check that.. compared stock neon tires 185/60/15 with srt 205/50/17 your speedo will only be off 3mph doin 60 = actually 63 205/40/17 is almost dead on for factory match...

cgneon is right
i had 205/40/17s on my 00 for 2 years.
exact same height as stock 185/65/14 tire no speedo change
NOTE: srt rims look awesome on most any neon.
however: srt rims are heavy as hell, they will hurt both the acceleration and deceleration of your car. so if you race your neon on any track, get a set of race wheels and tires if you care about speed.
