I have tokico struts and am wanting to get a 17x7.5 inch rims as that is the only size available in 17.

i may be wrong but at 38" offset would probably do just fine. Just not any higher.

well if you can get 35 offset do it 40 offset wont work for sure. 38 would be super super super close to the rear tension bar. 35 offset can be run with 17x8 so go with 35 offset. thats what i will be getting.

yep, just looked up the rims i am going to be getting and 35 offset is all they offer.

Now do you think i can run a 235/40/17 tire on these I would like to run a 225 but it seems to be a hard to come by size.

no 235 will rub i believe. 225 is the max. now you have srt struts right? or coilovers or something other then stock 2gn?

just saw you have tokico blues with the blues i dont know if those rims will fit. i have tokico blues and i have srt rims which are 6 inch wide and 215/40/17 tires and it is extremely close to the perch...

i did not know that the tire width has anything to do with the strut perch, i thought that was only the tire height.

nope width too. like you wont be able to find a 225 tire short enough to clear it.. like the wider you get the higer you get as well. my 2154017 anr skinny... i hate driving on roads that i dont know.. pot holes are terriable. im going with 16x7 more than likely

if i could find a 225/40/17 tire i would try that then just switch out the struts if i have to.

anything is better then the stock 185 in running now.

Isn't a 225/45 tire skinnier than a 225/40 tire

the tire calc in using shows that its is

The 225 is the width, the 40 or 45 is height.

The only change to the width that would occur with a change in aspect ratio would be that the shorter tire (40) would pull the sidewalls in a bit more on the same width wheel than the 45 would, making the contact patch slightly narrower.
