I have a 2002 neon ACR and i just bought a set of nice Powdercoated SRT4 rims, and im not a 100% sure theyll fit? the size is 215-50-17. will they also work with my stock strut? and will they rub up on anything? thank you guys for all your help!

they will rub with your stock struts, unless you get srt struts ...

the stock srt tires are 205 50 17 and those rub for sure, these are even wider and taller .....you will need coil-overs or srt struts for that tire....

good luck

Yes they will be.

If you use non SRT springs on SRT struts you will lift the car up and inch or so. you will want to get SRT springs.

it will be completely bolt in.

or you could just grab a hammer and beat the hell out of the spot that rubs on your stock perches ;)

if i just decided to keep the struts the way they are and just get a smaller tire what size of tire will i need to get to make it fit??? right now i have 15" rims and that tire size is 185-50-15 and that just clears it. is it posssible to get a tire about that size and put it on my srt4 17" rim??? thank you guys alot!

sure you don't have 185/60/15?

many people run 205/40/17 on srt wheels. personally, that isn't safe but a lot of people have done it.

o ic. yea rite now the rims have 205-50-17 and i think they are just a lil too big? u said some people run 205-40-17 but its not safe. which tire size do you recommend for it to be safe? o hey just to ask, ive heard of people putting washers over the hub bolts to fix this prob. im having? i guess it makes the tire come out to clear the strut. do you recommend i maybe try this or is it to dangerous???

205/50/17

That is a tire size that will fit on a 6" wide wheel. 205/40/17 is supposed to have atleast a 7" wide wheel. So that leaves you with two options (in my opinion)...

1. Sell the wheels and get the right size
2. get SRT struts.

Also remember that when using a 205/50/17 size your speedo/odo will be off a bit.

I go by manufacturers recommended sizes. I don't deviate from that. If the range is 7" - 8," then more than likely I would get a 7.5" wide wheel.

actually , 205 40 17 is designed for the wider rim. even tire rack installs it on 7-7.5 inch rims (look at tire specs).....

we had this discussion a while back ........

205/40/17 Toyo 4's on 01 ACR
It worked fine for me for the full life of the tires but others have said they had problems.
