Moderators, PLEASE Close this I got my new rollers.....

Post by pitvipr » Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:37 am

I got a 2004 Dodge Neon R/T that I'm getting ready to do some work on for a U.S. Soldier and I want to make sure the wheels and tires will clear without any issues. The car is Black and I'm looking to throw him on a set of Wheels and tires. Here is the wheels size chosen.

17x7.5
Offset 35MM
Back spacing 5.66"
Bolt of course 5x100
The car has absolutely stock suspension (struts, springs). My question to the wheel gods is will these fit. The wheel company recommends a 205/50-17 tire but these are just a few of my tire size ideas and a few names just to get some replies on weather the tires are good or not. Please leave as much feedback as possible I want this to come out looking right and driving/ handling right. Thanks Mitchell

Propsed tire sizes
215/45, 215/40, 205/50, 205/45, 205/40

Brand style treads
*Sumitomo HTR (+, z, z2, z3)
*General Exclaim UHP
*Kumho Ecsta AST, ASX, MX
*Yokohama Parada Spec 2
*Fuzion HRI, ZRI
*Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R
heres just the few different tires I was thinking. Thank you soo much 4 the assistance on choosing a good reliable tire and info on the rims as well thanks, Mitchell

I'm just looking mainly to find out if anybody has wheels with these specs and stock suspension to make sure they will clear and what of those tires sizes would be the best fit. the tire names and models listed are just the various different 1's I was looking at and I wanted to get feed back on good or bad tires. Thanks, Mitchell :)

Just based on the specs, I'd say they won't clear the tension struts in the rear, and possibly not the strut perches either. Drop down to a 7" wheel with the same specs and you might be ok, but it would still be a close call. I'll wait for someone with similar wheel specs to chime in.
