I've got some 15" steelies from an 01 gti in the attic, but I'm unsure if they would work with the 215/50 tires on there, or if the offset is the same. Just thought I would check here before I get in the attic and start pulling everything out to get to the wheels. I know the bolt pattern is 5x100.
I found out this week that my tires are rubbing the fender lips on front and back. It only happens when I hit a really big dip and compress the suspension all the way, but I'd like to pull them off rather than slice my tires up. The wheels are ugly as hell so this just makes it easier to get rid of them.
I guess the previous owner didn't get the correct offset, I'm running 215/40/17 so it's not a tire problem. The front is catching the outer tread, so even if I roll the fender I think it will still rub since there isn't much of a lip to roll up front.

That's exactly what they are, 15x6 steelies. My brother used them for the track, but got an evo so they've been in the attic for years.
I just slapped them on for a test drive, and even with 215/50 tires they don't rub. I think 205 is plenty wide though. A little shorter than stock, but with 3.55 gears it's not much of a concern. If anything it might help.
