WTF VALVESTEMS??????

So in the last 3 months I have had 3 flat tires. All three times it's been due to a failed valvestem. It appears that they are pulling out of my wheels somehow! Has anybody ever had this issue?
I'm thinking it's happening because of a bad batch at the shop where I had the tires installed, or perhaps the idiots doing the installation pulled on them too hard or something But that was 3 years ago!!!
It's not possible that they're dry rotting or something is it?
I'll take pics of what the latest failure looks like tomorrow when I go to work... or when it's getting repaired, whichever.

Are they aluminum wheels?? If so they may be corroding around the valve stems..

They're PT Cruiser wheels, and there's no corrosion around them, i looked when I had the issue fixed last time, everything's good...

I remember seeing something about valve stems from China that have been possibly responsible for a few deaths. Yeah, you definately want to be sure they are not using chinese stuff.

Apparently its old news, but leave it to the news stations to dig something up to fill in space.

We do indeed offer free tire repair. If the tires are repairable that is. And as far as the valve stems, we had to do a massive recall. It was a pain in the ass!
PT wheels have a tendency to corrode really bad. More so if you live in the salt belt. Actually all aluminum rims are pretty bad up here in MI. The best so far Ive seen are Honda rims. They must use an extra layer of clear.

Got it repaired for free at DTD, they are DEFINITELY getting more of my business, now! It was the valvestem, split at the base. Musta been one of those shitty ones. All fixed now and happy!

It's like anything else.
There is quality chinese stuff, and then there is the absolute crappy, poison in the food stuff. Maybe the two ends of the spectrum are just a bit farther apart than most.
It all comes down to who offers the best bribes, and how corrupt the manufacturer is.
