1gn Tire size question

Hey all,

I'm wondering what the biggest tire size I can run is on my 1998 sohc neon. I have 16x7 Rota Slipstreams ready to go, I just need to get a tire on them. They will also be going on my SRT from time to time. Any help would be much appreciated. I was thinking 215/45/16? I'd love to go 225 but I have heard that may be too big without some sort of spacer. Thanks in advance.

225s will hit the tension struts in the rear. 215s should be fine

215 should fit fine.

go to 1010 tires and use their tire size calculator
it will tell you what tires are within the factory diameter.

Im sure they make "bent" tension struts for 1st gens too. You may be able to fit 225's with them.
