no, I have cut through a tires sidewall, there isn't too much rubber there.

Only thing I'd use that for is to start a fire.
You def don't want to blow out a tire, usually causes lots of fenderwell and fender/quarter panel damage.

Are there any threads showing? If it hasn't cut threads/cords, it might be fine. Get it mounted, inflated, and a professional opinion. As long as it is limited to just the rubber coating, it is prolly good. But until it is inflated, to see if it bulges, you really don't know.

no threads showing...but when i push on it compared to the rest of the sidewall it feels weaker (well duh).
it's not too big a deal, the silverstones it would be going on are beat to shit anyway...my white wheels are nearly perfect, 4 brand new tires for the whiteys are way cheaper as well.
like i said, just looking for opinions....and an excuse to stay with the sexy white seven spokers..

Go to a rim shop they might sell you a used tire for cheap. I got a wheel and half used tire for $25 for my friend last week

well, the tire still has the wrapping on it so i'm assuming it was like that new. i didn't pay for it, i got it in a wheel trade.
i was going to either get 3 more kumhos and put these beat ass silverstones back on...or just get 4 new/better tires for the seven spokers in the spring...which is what i've decided to do.

I drove with a bulged tire for a while. Never took it on the highway or anything, and it was only for a little bit until I could get a different tire. So if you have to, go ahead. But I wouldn't keep it on there for long.

From a person who sees tires everyday, I say no. That cut is way to deep and I know there is going to be bad results if you use that tire.
Thoes Kumhos are not that expensive, just get a new one.
