17" Intrepid R/T wheel specs. Teaser pic?

Post by flhmfd » Sun Nov 20, 2011 3:07 pm

Ok, I'm going to keep the 17" R/T wheels from my dads Intrepid and run them on my car next year.

I'm trying to find the specs on the wheels (mainly offset) so I can decide on spacers. I'm not going to slam it but I want some different springs for sure. Any opinions on which will give the car and even rake?

I'm thinking Tein springs with 12mm adapters to 5x114 and 205 or 215 45 17.

Thoughts?

Yeah, that's fine.

Then I'll be able to run alot more wheels too.

I'm hoping my dad gets new wheels so I can try his 300m special wheels out.

I think you might need more than a 12MM spacer, but I'm sure they would look baller. Are they the ones that look like 1gn RT wheels?

Yes, they are those.

They are 11 years old so maybe I'll powdercoat them. Was thinking maybe a cream or flat aircraft grey. Maybe even just a nice silver again.

If I can find the offset I can do the math. My buddy also bought a fender roller, so I have that at my disposal...

Don't quote me on this, but I think they're 40MM also. It seems like almost every stock Chrysler wheel was 40MM.

Put the wheels up to the car with the baloon tires on.

Looks hilarious I know, but with some work, I'm thinking it could look badass.

Drew up a quick pic for fun too.

Finding adapters that will work with that close of a bolt pattern has prolly put a damper on it. The adapters will make the wheels stick out too much too. They would need to be at least an inch thick, or better.

It would be "easier" to have the hubs re drilled. And then they may not have adequate diameter.

Hey guys let me ask you a question.....would you pay for the parts and work to be done to have a 5x114 conversion or would you buy the conversion spacers?
