How many changed NVLD pump or the Purge Solenoid or Gas Cap?

I am battling a P0441 on my 04 Neon SE. Couldn't find any obvious cracks on the visible parts of the hoses under hood and hear canister.
So here is a poll question.
How many of you have changed?
a. NVLD pump
b. Purge Solenoid
c. Gas cap

Usually it's the NVLD or the purge solenoid.
There are also tons more things that could be wrong such as cracks in the tank or filler neck vent tube.
Best is to have a mechanic smoke test the system with the DRBIII. That way you're not just replacing parts for something different.

Based on the searches I have done, leaks seems have explicit codes of their own. And before p0441 shows up, prior leaks tests have to pass. I have ordered an nvld on amazon was 30 bucks. So i'll post back with results.

I changed the NVLD. So far after 85 miles of mixed driving after reset, no code yet.
Fingers crossed! I'll update after some more...
Fixed. P0441 was a bad NVLD.

Edit: Replaced the NVLD and no more P0441.

NVLD for me. I actually removed the purge solenoid and bench-tested it with a 12V supply, and it was fine, so I ruled that out. I talked to my cousin who's been a Chrysler tech for years and as soon as I said the code, he said with no reservation, replace the NVLD. No codes in 2 years!

What does NLVD stand for?
Thanks

Natural Vacuum Leak Detection (module). Up to 2002, it was called the LDP (Leak Detection Pump). 2003+ has the NVLD. Functionally, I don't know what the difference is.

Could a bad nvld result in my car always accelerating/ making my car feel like it had no power brakes? I've check all the vac lines very loosely. I'm going to go through again with a fine tooth comb. Any advice will be helpful

It might if the vacuum line to the pump fell completely off.
The "pump" only puts a vacuum on the fuel tank/system to see if it can maintain that vacuum. If it cannot, depending on how fast the vacuum leaks off, it sets a code for either a large leak, (gas cap missing size hole) or a small leak, (hose slightly cracked type hole).
It doesn't care about an actual vacuum leak, only the size of hole that will let unburned fuel vapors into the atmosphere.
But it shouldn't let enough air in to keep the IAC from maintaining idle speed.
Possibly the brake booster diaphragm is leaking. Pull and plug the booster hose, and see if the engine idles down. Do not drive it with it unplugged, or not very fast. It is a bitch to stop, as I'm sure you have somewhat of an idea.

Yeah sometimes I can't really stop in reverse haha it's extremely annoying. I'll check all that out tomorrow if I have time and let you know what happens
