P1685 Skim Invalid Key The engine controller has received an invalid key from the SKIM.
is your car still running and driving? typically when you see this the SKIM (sentry key immobilizer unit) has immobilized the car and will no longer start or will only run for a couple min then shut down. If the code popped up in error then something is malfunctioning in the skim module (attached to the key cyl) or in the pcm.
Off chance did you try starting the car with a non chipped key? Grey keys are chipped, silver or black are not.

me thinks that spare key isnt a skim key, or it needs programmed into the skim module so it recognizes it. I wouldnt use it if it were me, just use your other key for now.
