small/leak evap leak

Post by LyricsNLines » Mon Oct 28, 2013 11:53 pm

I'm throwing 2 codes in my 2000 atx plymouth neon that read small/large evap leak. This has been so for awhile and I just over looked it. I did not see anything noticeable under the hood so my question here. Is there a way to check the rear hoses other than leak down smoke test?

I hate to be cliché but try replacing the gas cap. If that doesn't fix it there is a how to on here to further address that problem. Try the search button. Most times it seems the O ping on the cap shrinks or is slightly torn and leaks, also inspect the fuel filler neck for rust and pin holes.

check the nvld pump, down below the brake booster. It has two elbowed lines running off of it, and they like to crack or wiggle loose.

There is a sticky at the top of this section linking to my How-To thread... viewtopic.php?t=66714
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...
