Removing Muffler?

Sorry if this has already been posted, I'm brand new here (1st post) and couldn't find any answers, I have a 04 SXT and I love the deeper sound when I unbolted the muffler yesterday, I live in CA and was wondering if anyone knows the following:

If I bolt a pipe to make it exit the rear bumper is it illegal?
I plan on leaving the CAT in and making the pipe un-bolt for smog purposes. can I legally run the CAT and straight pipe as long as the tip exits past the body?

I am pretty sure any mods in cali have to be cali or carb compliant even for cold air intakes and exhausts etc. Meaning probably the only legal way is to get a legit axel back such as what modernpeformance.com offers.

I think it has to meet certain sound level requirements too. The axle back (Rear section) isn't bad to remove/replace, I would just swap the two when it's time for testing. You may want to put a resonator in the pipe to keep the sound police at bay. The less attention, the better.

Just coat the pipe where it clamps with antiseize to make removal/install a bit easier.

If you want that loud, raspy, super obnoxious sound just bolt a stock SRT-4 rear section on... people sell them cheap when they put an upgraded exhaust on and then at emissions time you can swap back to your stock muffler. It's CA after all, no rust to worry about, right?...

Thanks for the replies, I've come to find out that r/tguy02 is tight and the car must have a pipe.
