picture help!

ok i need one of you photoshop gurus to help me out. i have a picture that i need blow up. thing is when i make it bigger it gets pixelated pretty bad...is there anyway i can get to "smoother" while keeping the picture somewhat big. the picture is going on the back of a shirt.

as you increase the size, you can use a small amount of gaussian blur. About 1.0. Other than that, you can't really "add" pixels that arn't there.

I just did it to about 8 inches in size... used a little bit of blur, then a little sharpen and it helped a little.
