Well.
I have been so busy fixing everyone else cars that I have been neglecting my own. Srt is sitting just under 70k miles and clutch and timing belt need to be done soon. and orange here gets like a panel done a month now, well at least its progress and I don't need to drive either of them anymore daily because
I bought a subie outback which is an awesome dd.
To the important things..
scrapped the plans for the 03+ rear bumper with shaved boobies, mopar lip and cut to fit bux tail lights, even though I had almost finished it.
Pic of it in its early stages:
Yeah Decided to instead buy an srt rear bumper, got it real cheap 100 bucks with no damage, and just modify the opening to fit the bux tail lights.
Much different process this time, at the time I did that I was in school for auto body, now 3 years into the industry I have learned way better ways to make things like this happen.
I slicing the bumper almost all the way off near the tail lights took a small chunk out and using 3m 2 part adhesives and flexible parts filler a 200ml tube of each, I got what I needed.
It took some time to get the gaps and body line looking nice and even to both sides but I got them.
And as for my decklid..
I got a new kia optima at work that got slammed in the rear and got a new deck lid and spoiler, I took the thing off and I was like wow this looks like it fits the contour of the neon deck lid...
Long story short... after a lot of cutting and glassing and cutting and glassing, this is what I came up with, there really isn't much left of the original kia spoiler other than the top section.
A little bit different than the pvo, angles back more, which I like way better, I think its more downdraft and suited to the cars angles better..
Still not painted but its coming soon.. also 3rd brake light deleted..
What is still left on the hit list..
Paint the decklid, rear bumper and mopar side skirts..
Haha maybe it will get done before the end of the summer..
I still plan to srt swap her eventually.
Constructive criticism is always welcome.
