Well, hello everyone !
I've been lurking 2GN for a few months now because I was thinking about buying my nephew's SX2.0 and needed to learn more about them. But it is official as of yesterday: I am the current owner of a 2005 Bright Silver MTx SX2.0.
I'm really enjoying it so far but I do need to bring it to my standards of cleanliness. It's completely stock except for yellow fog light bulbs and disappointingly large amounts of rocker panel rust that have been "installed" in the last few years.
So far, the plans are:
- restore the body to its original glory
- do the same mechanically speaking (brakes and strut mounts to begin with)
- get to work in the engine bay following the "Less Is More" motto (A/C delete, P/S delete, Cruise delete, battery relocation, etc.)
- then some other things like, Rear disc conversion, maybe finding some 16" Silverstones (not sure of the name, but the mesh-style OEM wheels ?) when the need for new tires arises.
Anyway, I'm really liking the forums so far: great friendly people, awesome how-to and FAQ sections. I'm looking forward to posting on here.
Thanks !

Haha you are, aren't you ?Midnight_Rider wrote:Eh, don't worry about what it looks like now- we're all pic whores here.
I'll start a progress log soon. I did spend some time with my new love today. I installed the summer wheels (which are also 14" steelies but at least are rust-free), new wipers, did some cleaning. I need to peel off the dealer decals and it'll look much better.
Soon !
Thanks again !
Well, it's my pleasure to announce the creation of a progress log for my car.

2005 MTX manual windows/locks plus
In my area i see WAY more STX or STX-like optioned 03-05 than base neon's and really have only seen 1 base 03-05 MTX.
keep the PS, smaller battery in stock location and IMHO you have the foundation at a minimum locally competitive STF class AutoX racer. You don't have a scale available do you? if so, leave the trunk contents at home and get it weighed"Less Is More" motto (A/C delete, P/S delete, Cruise delete, battery relocation, etc.)
