I'm a little late on here.

But I became a father for the first time back on February 25th to a beautiful 8lb, 8oz daughter.

That is all.

For those who don't "FaceBook" believe it or not "Hagan" is now a DAD

It's funny how we all grew up together having parties at Carlisle and now we are bringing the families with us and we are mellowing out as it has now become a family event....lol

Thanks everyone, it's crazy to think I've been in this group for over a decade.

I begun while in high school. Now I'm 28 (29 Friday), have a career, a wife, and now a daughter.

Been going to almost all the Carlisle trips. Growing up with the 2gn family, it's crazy seeing what we used to be and now where we're at.

I still remember when "BoneYard" was coming to the events with his mother, I don't think he had his license at that time and thats why she was always with him.... I could be wrong though.....
Too many good memories to list
How about hurrying up to the fairgrounds to be the first to see what "Mancini Racing" was discounting and we were all looking for "Neon" parts while
other spectators were looking for muscle car parts....

While I never got any deals at Carlisle, I did get some nice clearance pricing on a brand new Magnum head, and a complete set of NIB SOHC rockers. All, for just under $300, IIRC. That's when used ones were going for more than that. I was actually shocked no one snatched that stuff up before I did.

2 of the best deals I could remember when "Mancini" was doing there clearance discounts......
1 - A rare prototype CarbonFiber SOHC valve cover for a 2.0
2 - The polished stainless steel catless engine back exhaust I picked up for cheap.
Mancini had a stock pile of SS exhaust pipe they needed help identifying and I sorted through the pipes organizing them into the kits
they were supposed to be and one of the kits I grabbed was for a 2.0 SOHC engine. I miss that exhaust...lol

Yeah, I remember that year or two that Mancini had tons of great stuff. Damn, that carbon fiber valve cover with the Mopar logo!! What a nice piece.

Snagged an SRT-4 DaimlerChrysler press kit from an eBay seller- it arrived today. Another piece of Neon memorabilia for my collection.

I don't remember who it was that recommended me to them, but I remember Mancini wanted to know if I could identify what pipe was for what kit and I spent some time at there display separating the components to be complete kits and I found that there was a 2.0 Polished SS catless downpipe in the pile. It was a prototype that was never released and the SRT4 catless downpipe was created instead and offered to the public. Along with this catless pipe there was the intermediate pipe, over axle pipe, and single to dual split muffler for the RT style rear fascia. Mancini gave me a smoking deal on it for the help I gave them and I took it home! I was laughed at when I would put my car on the lift at work to clean my exhaust pipe...lol
I don't know if it still exists anymore as I sold it to a 2GN member when I was dismantling my RT. It was sold to a "certain" member near where our motel is located every year. This "certain" member was using it for a while but it would be cool if it was available for sale again.

The press kit shows photos of the prototype SRT-4, without the "nostrils" which were added before production began. The SRT Design's front fascia is extremely similar (or the same one) as shown on that prototype.

Being the press kit is dated 2005, it is probably a red SRT-D pictured. They never used 15" 6 spokes on the SRT....

Why would they use a 4 year or older photo for a new press release?

Edit: Magnifying the image, the hood insert looks to read "SRT (Design?)", because the digits after "SRT" are much longer than a "4".

There is a publication date of 01/02 on the lower right hand corner of the back cover. This is why the "nostril"-less prototype is pictured. The SRT-D wasn't introduced until the 2005 model year. What BRR posted is a photo of the 2005 dealership brochure, not the press kit that I bought.

For pictures of the item, here is a link to the eBay listing:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Dodge-Neo ... true&rt=nc

Yes, the SRT-D did include the legend "SRT Design" on the hood inserts.

My Neon just bit me. I was trying to get into the car in my narrow garage (without getting sweat on its body or banging the driver's door on the wall) so that I could use Meguiar's leather conditioner on the steering wheel and driver's seat. When I bent over to enter the car, I hit my head on the top edge of the door frame and took a deep one inch plus cut out of my scalp. This left flesh on the door frame- YUCK! I think that I have the blood flow under control now and have put a large adhesive bandage on the site. For a few panicky minutes, I thought that I might have to drive to the ER for stitches (after midnight, of course). I am such a klutz. #-o

I'm thinking to my self, "Why the heck are you applying leather conditioner, at that time of night?"

But then "Midnight_Rider " of course.

And there is nothing wrong with slathering up the neon late at night.

Perhaps the neon thought you could use a little scalp conditioning?

Hopefully it heals up without any more drama.

Ain't that the truth. The hours aren't odd for me as I work afternoons- this is why I was attending to the Neon at that time of the night. I made it through the night without leaving blood stains on the pillow so I guess that it is under control. I'm not looking forward to what I'll see when I have to change the bandage.

I have absolutely cut my head on blunt objects before. It's amazing how much protection a layer of hair creates. The bare scalp is pretty vulnerable without it. I still have a lump/scar on my head from the time the hood latch clocked me, when a gust of wind shut the carbon hood on my head. My old first gen didn't have a prop rod because the carbon fiber hood would just push back over the windshield to open. I learned in a hurry not to do that on a windy day.

Yeah, there goes the haircut I was planning to get this week.

After applying the leather treatment last night, today I found two small tears in the front seat vinyl/leather (?) on the B-pillar side so the car is going to an upholstery shop tomorrow to see if repairs can be made.
