Good guys, all of them. I'll never forget when we were passing the phone around talking to TNK (I think it was Jason's phone), and Krackstar got on the phone. All you hear is TNK say "Wow... you don't... uh... sound like I thought you would." Hahahaaha...

Where the hell is mr. John Holmes anyway? I'd love to see him again. He did show up for at least one meet after he sold the white ACR.

I still think that the TNK fund is a good idea. I would also like to see Mr. Josh Zombie return in his "feet" footwear.
Um, yeah......that's probably not going to happen....

I talked to him a while back...
He misses the 2GN crowd, but he's left the car scene and is focussing on work and the home front now......
Any more details beyond that IDK, It's probably been 1-2years since I talked to him....

+1. It's almost certain that my Neon will not see 2019 in my ownership. That car means the world to me and I might give it one last time in the spotlight, rust and all.

On the other hand... racecar.

I cannot wait to see all of you again! This show has been the highlight of my year for over a decade now.

Daytona has been out of hibernation for a week now and all is good. Very good actually. Now I have to polish up the Neon. It's going to be a day-of decision for me.

Ran into a buddy of mine over the weekend who's another Mopar nut. He's showing up in his daily-driven 1964 Polara!

That was my first car, a 1964 Polara 500 convertible. 50th anniversary edition. It had the cable shift 727 (Push Button) but it had a console shifter instead of the buttons.

A lot of memories in that car...

This one is a white 4-door, 440 automatic. I wonder if it was a police cruiser with a setup like that. I don't know what he's got for carbs, but he drives it 3 seasons a year.

Mine was a 383, originally with a 2 bbl carb. The trans shifted hard before shift kits were a thing. You had to watch accelerating on wet pavement, with the Auburn LS, and the hard shift, it would go sideways pretty easily. I don't know how I didn't kill myself in this car, or keep from wrecking it. Maybe everyone should learn to drive in something you had better respect. But then common sense is also required...

Not that I didn't push it, but I knew what it's limitations were, and when to lift.

It was sadly pretty rusted when I bought it, I had a license plate covering the hole in the floor board by my feet, but if you hit a puddle hard enough, you still got water in your face.

Amazingly, it wasn't in much worse shape when I sold it for parts 22 years later.

Hopefully a few more neon folks start showing up again. 2GN.org didn't have enough people register with the club this year to make it into the top 3 biggest clubs.....looks as if there will be no huge tent next year to camp out under or provide shade for those hot summer days.....
I was wondering how the tent thing fared, if there was any available shade, or if those that attended had to tough it out. :/

We had the "3 car" tent instead of the "4 car" tent. It was pretty packed with people. We didn't place in the top 3 clubs, but Ed mentioned us in the top 5 as of noontime Saturday.

Weather was good.

Daytonas were back-to-back with the Neons, so it was awesome for me. I brought the Neon this year for the first time since 2007.

2nd and 3rd place in autocross went to 2GN members. 1st place actually went to a Dart that surprised us all. The car appeared to be set up really well and driven near perfectly.

I scored an extra set of T-tops for $50. I could have hugged the seller.

Hopefully Jason will load up the drone video and the photos from Three Mile Island. Good times.

Good for you! I was telling the owner of the upholstery shop yesterday about when you and I spotted the Carroll Shelby seatcover material in the swap meet and how that would have made a Shelby vehicle owner extremely happy.

So... how was the HW this year? I noticed a recent, really bad review on tripadvisor so what's the scoop?

There's always going to be that one person who complains. Not going to go into details. But it's a cheap hotel. Don't expect 5 star service from a 2 star place is the best way to put it.

No idea since I've never had an issue there (other than wifi, but it's practically a given after this long). It's exactly what you'd expect to get for $45/night. Nevermind that we're allowed to essentially claim the parking lot for ourselves the entire time.

For those bitching, you can go get a pristine room in a beautiful hotel at the Fairfield Inn literally a 90-second walk from the Harrisburg West. It's 3-5x the price, but who cares.

The Harrisburg is perfectly fine. It's a place to sleep (for a few hours), shower, and $h!t.
