Hello everyone, it's been a while! I guess my account got lost, so I created another. I had an 02 SXT and I miss it, 5 yrs without it I decided to get an 05 at what I thought was a good price... well, it wasn't really, but I'm trying to make the best of it.

my 02 was red instead of blue, both have hit a deer or two, both have been totaled at one point in their life, the 02 had a 5 speed and this has a 4 speed ATX that has a shifter that does nothing but PRND...

now I'm beginning to think The Blue Bomber is out to get me... a money pit. I fix, it stays broken, I fix more, it stays broken...

150K miles at purchase and maybe the previous owner(s) didn't take care of it like you would have. But I understand about the "money pit" label.

All cars are money pits in one way or another.


Even ones that go up in value, because you are spending money and resources to keep them preserved. They only become profitable when you sell them.

Maybe the best option would be to find a low mileage ATX, with some kind of warranty, swap it in, and have it taken to a dealer for a Quick Learn Procedure. You could probably get this done for ~$500, if you can do the trans R & R yourself.

Should be able to use either a 40te or a 41te from either a 2.0 or 2.4.
