The VW is the only one of those three I wouldn't consider.
Why? Curious

It's just a boring car IMO. The Infinity has decent power and the Mazda 6 is known as a fun car to drive. Both cars are decent to look at. The VW is kind of stale in comparison.

fair and i dont really disagree... its a sensible choice... with a good motor...is why its up there. but i agree with your assesment.

on the mazda anyone know anything about the I-Eloop tech? saw where it could increase MPG to the 40 range but idk if it is glitchy or unreliable but 40 mpg could be nice

Havent bought yet..right now it will more than likely be the Mazda6 but i need to test drive one one more time to be sure that i will be okay with the HP... i love the car, just wish it had a turbo on the later ones... 184 HP isnt great.... but the car drives well overall... i place it close to the neon in overall feel(a modified one at least)

UGHHHH, okay so this weekend we went to look at the Mazda one more time and check interior sizing and make sure she was happy.. on the way we stopped at Honda and i showed her the accord sport 2.0... well she was indifferent about it but didn't say no to it... she doesn't care for Honda as that was all her mom would buy... now i have the decision of waiting a little longer and getting the accord when used ones come on market.. which has a good engine and tranny, rides well and looks eh, but also has less options overall...or get the Mazda 6?

i like the looks of the 6 hands down.. but the accord is faster
driving feel does to the Mazda IMO
but practicality and space goes accord...
interior quality goes to the Mazda and so does options for price...
the 6 gets better gas mileage too... but that comes with less power..

in all honesty i prefer everything about the 6 but the engine..... it is adequite but if i can get something fast.. do i? i have a lead foot so getting a smaller engine may not be the worst thing for my driving record... i keep thinking i was very happy in a neon with all of 130 hp(crank) so surely 185 would be enough to keep me happy still....

I cant decide here....

I like the body lines on the 6 better. The performance would have to be damn good, to make up for an ugly car.

The problem is that the power is really good..... i it was just "oh it has more power" it wouldnt be an issue but its got really good power... the 10 speed does pretty good work, even if it is more gears than necessary...

but ya its not that great looking... if it was better looking i could choose the accord easily.... or if the mazda had 200hp i could choose it easily...

It seems that way I guess. I really do enjoy the ones I have. Just like my Neon, my two Mazdas are/were:

- bought used with very low miles
- 2.0L
- manual
- more fun to drive than anything on paper would lead you to expect

I know i like the new 18s a lot, the problem is that they are still 30K for the lowest trim with the turbo 4 and i doubt they will come below 25k for a bit..

Who is driving the car more? You or your wife? Who is forking over the money? Equally? Very easy answer for me. Accord 2.0T Sport with the 6 speed manual. Have a detuned Type R motor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyDhJtapFXQ But At $30k I could think of other awesome used cars to buy. But not really family friendly though lol. If you want to save a ton of money stop looking at new cars. Lots of nice used fun cars with low miles at around $15k or less.

I will be drving the car most of the time, but she wants to be able to drive it... so if it was an option i would get the accord with the stick too... but she refuses to drive stick and insists i get an auto... thats the thing with the accord... best price they could do was 28,700 and we are looking to stay around 22ish but could go higher...but dont necessarily want to. i didnt want a new car as i can get a slightly used one 10k cheaper and with all the options and someone else pays the depreciation.. the space and motor are why the accord is there... the looks arent great but it has a lot more power than the mazda but the mazda having a last years model i can get a much better price.. plus it looks better and handles better, the seats are better, the interior is nicer.. but that engine... is reallly all that keeps it even an option...

So over the christmas break, i was near a Carmax and had my civic appraised. while there i saw one of these and test drove it... initially i had looked at these CCs but only looked at the VR6 versions as the 2.0 i drove in the passat was anemic. the 2.0 in this was so much better its not even funny. i think this is mostly due to the DSG. but over all even though it is based on the passat, this drives so much better but comes with a nice quality interior and is pretty spacious.

now the wife likes this one as it can get 32MPG, but it does take premium.... these can also be cheap with low miles and they havent had significant changes so i can get an older model as well whereas with the mazda, they made a few changes between the 16 and 17 that would make me only wnt the 17. plus the combo of color and options makes it harder nd more expensive to find.

now i am having a hard time comparing this to the 6 as they both look really good albeit the 6 looks better, the CC is fasterand handles well adn the DSG is a nice tranny... but the VW maint worries me, but i can do a lot of work myself unlike most premium owners....

i have commitment issues here and cant settle on one..

so it looks like the dark blue color isnt avaiable on the 16 and 17 that have the pushbutton start so this is the color that i would be getting more than likely unless i went with a base
Image
Image
Image

This is the regular sport model that changes the grille, but can be had with the dark blue in the newer years...

All this still comparing to the mazda 6 which has all the nannies...

Looks like the same color as your Neon in your sig. Congrats on the new car. They look nice. I personally would stay away from a VW unless it had a warranty which yours does.

Did you end up trading the Civic in? You will always get more money selling a car privately.

What year is that? Here is one local to me that I like,. It is the R line with the 2.0 turbo and 6 speed auto
https://www.edmunds.com/volkswagen/cc/2 ... 5GE515425/ $20,500 with 13k miles.

Its pretty close actually, i wasn't sure about the color over the internet but in person it looks good. a little darker on the light blue.

between the few friends i have a mixed bag of VW owners.. a few who loved them and a few who had not so fond memories.. I'm hoping i end up in the first half and so far i am but only time will tell.

I sold it separately to a new 16 year old girl to abuse it for another 10 years... got 3500 out of it which most dealers were offering 2500 at best so it worked out well for me.

Its a 17' R line executive. their value is absolute crap from the MSRP but most once they drop half their value they level out some. i don't plan on selling anytime soon.. so as long as i keep my payments in line shouldn't have any issues with value

Weather was nice and overcast today so perfect for pics.

So the front plate mount may stay on there.. apparently VW puts like 4 massive holes under there to secure it.. plus it is painted so its not immediately bothering me...

Thanks! the date on there is the purchase date i got a month before they expire.

no major plans just yet. i wanna do an intake and exhaust as well as a lip spoiler and splittler possibly.

cant decide if i want to do painted or CF for the exterior touches. its tempting with the carbon touches on the inside.
