Probably get better offers in a month or so when some people are getting tax return money. Also Spring time will help too. Awesome you got your Durango fixed. What was wrong with it? Just stupid cold out here. Currently feels like 8 with the windchill and its 3 in the afternoon. HATE bitter cold weather and working in it. Ugh.

The Durango had a bad ground. We found it and had it fixed pretty quick.

The Jeep finally sold yesterday. It was bittersweet. It had been in the family since new and I'd owned it for more than a decade. It was well loved, but it just wasn't used anymore. Plus, the freeze plugs started leaking a year and a half ago. I tore the manifolds off and knocked out the old plugs. I never could get new ones to go in, so it just sat in the driveway, collecting plant life. It went to a good home. A hardcore Jeep guy who had big plans for it. Hopefully they don't wreck it. Oh well. Goodbye, old friend.

No, it was a good old 4.0 inline six gas engine. The Durango is gone now too. Check out the Picture Post forum for pics of the new ride.

I traded the Durango for the Journey. They didn't give me much, but it helped.

Dammit, you spectacular bastard. I would pay to drive that car in between when the swap is done, but before you put a 8" lift kit in it.

"Instead of always going to dealerships, why don't you work on your car yourself, Gramps?"

I just put a 1/4" gouge in the license plate well when my screwdriver slipped out of the right side slot. :angryfire: I can't even install a license plate properly.

At least it will be a distinguishing feature if my car is parked in a group of black SRTs.

Flat blade screws are the worst. It is easy for the blade to slip and kill. I have been there, done that. I get really nervous when circuit boards are held on with slotted screws.

Do they have the hex with the slot, or are they just slotted heads? The hex/slot combo is the worst, as only the outer edges have a place for the screwdriver blade to contact. A nut driver or socket is best for those.

Probably why I toss the plate screws, and go with M6 stainless steel button head Allen bolts to hold my plates on.

I just used a tap to make new threads in the plastic, and viola, you have something that does not slip, and it even looks nicer. You can get a cheapo hex key that fits, and toss it in the glove box. Or one of those combo screwdrivers with the hex bits.

It's not perfect, but it is surprising how well it tricks the eye. And it won't cause any ill affects in getting it touched up later.

Im not sure if I’m actually going to do the lift or not at this rate, but the swap will happen with a few small bolt ons.

Guys, I’m not coming with good news. Lane is currently in hospice care at home and has been for almost 3 weeks. He unblocked me on Facebook recently and I got the inkling to check tonight. As abrasive of a character as he could be I hope that his next transition is a smooth one. If you pray, it might be a good time to do that for him.

I was wondering why I hadn't seen any sort of Chrysler news updates from him recently.

He can certainly a crusty old bastid, but he will be missed, if/when things come to that. I'm sure any form of prayers to whatever beliefs would be appreciated.

I guess 9 1/2 years of battling cancer would explain some of his grumpiness, and I can respect not wanting to share something like that.

Please keep those of us not on FB with any updates you get.

Prayers are a WILL DO here! I didn't know him, but did get a "kick" reading his posts and updates of our FAVORITE brand.

On another note... Has anyone heard from Black Rose Racing lately? I have not seen him here or on an Avenger site I'm also with in a long time.

Wow those headlights are really yellowed. I wonder if he left them like that so they matched his numbers and lettering on the car.
