The previous owner had some seriously questionable taste. I mean, chrome tails and white mesh? Yuck.

At least that stuff is very minor, and can be reversed in a matter of minutes.

I seen a VW "new" Beetle the other day, that had been painted white, (rattle can) even the headlights were sprayed, with a small hole in the center for the light to escape.

That's taking the monochrome theme a bit overboard. I didn't have the motivation to get out of my car and see if they painted the tails white too, but given the disregard for safety on the headlights/front turns, I wouldn't be surprised.

If it was a show car/trailer queen, I can almost see it, but a street driven DD, Nope.

Too much effort to just remove two screws and take the plate off. Or maybe a few more, and the entire bracket, for a little cleaner look. The screw holes would be less noticeable in pictures than a finger.

Not too many ppl will go the extra mile to sell their car.

At least it is clean. I always get a kick out of the FS posts where the interior is filthy, or loaded with fast food garbage.

I guess one of my first jobs having been detailing new and used cars, sort of makes me biased on a good product presentation.

I not only had to make it look good for the perspective buyer, but it had to get by the sales people trying to hawk those Chevys.

It was a podunk small dealer, but they were rated #1 in NE Ohio for customer satisfaction on new car deliveries. Not bad for polishing turds.

Maybe it is just the picture, or poor workmanship, but the door card insert looks to be re wrapped.





I wouldn't mind having some Ram's Head inserts, they would be a closer match to the Concorde seats, than the Mickey Thomson "I" design pattern that the '00-'01(?) base used.

Wow, even comes with a very used Glow key, and a mouse guard for the air filter.

Pretty much a necessity if it isn't driven on a regular basis. We had one tear up the air filter in the wife's '96, because she doesn't drive her car but only a few times a month.

I don't see how the fiberglass fenders are an upgrade. They have to weigh more than stock, and the rear wheel wells still have cheesy looking fender flares. It just looks unfinished IMHO. Maybe if actual bodywork had been done to better match the rear quarters to the front fenders.

If you are going to mess with body lines, going at it half assed never works out. And sometimes, it just looks like shit, compared to original no matter how hard you try.

I don't mind the fenders. What drives me nuts is that he has four different gauges and they're at least three different styles. My gauges have to match. It must look like a Christmas tree in there at night. The car seems pretty solid and the lower mileage is nice, though.

Tuned on SCT!?!? That is OLLLDDD. I wouldn't trust that. I don't think you can make adjustments with it either. My car was originally tuned on that from original owner. Diablosport was quite a bit better.
I think he has those huge fender flares since he is running a massive 275mm all around. Weird he is selling it right after getting the timing belt done. I always find it odd when people sell something after a bunch of work has been done to it. Like "Motor was fully built 500 miles ago" Usually there are issues. But sometimes there are not and the owner just wants something different after putting a bunch of money into it and think it will be an endless money pit.

He said he tracks it, so you know it has been driven hard.

Those wider tires, and hard cornering on a track, also take a toll on the ball joints and other suspension components, not to mention the steering gear. At least with closer to stock tires, they give up a little performance, but are a lot easier on everything else.

Way overpriced with that death rot going on. Too expensive for a parts car. You would have more than it's worth to stop that rust, and even then, it will never stop at that point.

Within a year, the rockers are going to be flapping.

The crooked exhaust, and rubber band tires do it no favors either, they don't even look like they belong on the car. It's like someone stuck Festiva wheels on a neon.

But at least the asking price is a bit more in line than the one above it. Half the miles, and hopefully the body is as good as it looks. Making it look a bit tamer is far easier than fixing the rot.
