Magnum intake part number

Post by bombtrack07 » Fri Jul 28, 2006 3:42 pm

hey guys, i'm thinking of putting a magnum intake manifold (it seems most of the smart guys here have one  ) on my 2004 sxt and i was wondering if there is only one model of magnum intake or if there are several different models that vary slightly and if so which one would i need? my dealership gave me the impression that there are about 4 different models. i would rather pay $100 for a mag than $500 for an indy. i am trying to do a mild n/a build and this seems the smarter choice. any help is appreciated.

There is only one model and you might want to do some more research before you jump in a buy it. The magnum intake mani is a dual runner setup with butterfly valves controling the 2nd, shorter set of runners, opening and closing depending on the RPM range you're at when you're at WOT (wide open throttle). It get it to fuction like that on your car you'll have to do some wiring...

Oh i'm definitely gonna research it more, i just needed that initial question answered. many thanks for that link; if i decide to go thru with this swap then i will definitely have that page as a guide. i'm no genius when it comes to engines but i do know a little more than the average person (i work in the parts room of a desiel truck repair company) and i'm pretty good with my socket wrench. plus my daddy has been a mechanic for the last 30 years or so so he's gonna be there if it gets done. many thanks for the reply :D

i doubt the intake man will run you 100$ but if you find it for that price make sure you post where you got it from for the rest of the non mag guys.

Totalling the parts up above it comes to $756.50 MSRP to bull all the parts needed to make the mag intake mani. If you can find the whole assembly for $100 hell I'll be 3 and sell them on the .org to make a profit.

Only way you'll find it for $100 is if it's used. They don't normally go that low however.

You would pay more than $100 for just the lower plenum.

alright, when my poor neon gets out of the shop (should be today or tomorrow) then i'll go back to my dealer and check those prices again. i could have been talking to the wrong person the first time i called but i'm pretty sure he told me $100. i'll post my findings here and then it'll be settled once and for all.
