i test drove one at the dealer..has some lag on the turbo, but once it spools it goes..it kinda quiet tho..can barely hear the exhaust and motor..does have a really stiff suspension..over bumps its comfortable and when u push it to turns it gets the job done the way u want it..brakin is also good..little better than the stock srt4 system..overall its a good family car..but still wouldnt trade my srt4 for it

I’m still breaking it in so have not pushed it to hard. Yes the car is very quite. As for turbo lag it’s very minimum. No matter what gear you are in and tap the gas and it takes off like a rocket. I really wanted something bigger and more comfortable and had to have a manual. A comparably equipped BMW was close to 10k more and more to insure.
Having a SRT-4 Swapped second generation R/T already I am very familiar with the SRT-4. My car has a number of upgrades so I don’t know how a stock SRT-4 feels but I doubt it’s much quicker. The Mazda is all wheel drive and has a close ratio six speed so you better launch the SRT-4 perfect to take one out at the line. I’m sure from a roll the SRT-4 is faster.
As for handling can’t complain at all. It a little heavy and can’t be thrown around as easy as my first generation but the all wheel drive does a great job accelerating out of a corner. Mazda Speed always did a great job with suspension tuning and finally is putting out cars with power to match it.
