the hybrid thing kills it for me..

I would rather have a normal engine with a lightweight chasis. :)

Sometimes I wish concepts would be produced the way they look... Hell, I love that thing. I'd buy it in a heart beat.

You can't beat pushing 400 horse and still getting 40mpg city.

i like the idea, but the lines are a little sharp for me. I think if there going for futureistic they should make it look more like the audi from iRobot, that thing looked sweet

while its a good idea, the hybrid part kills it.

i personally think it would be better to create a very efficient 4 cyl and plop it in a lightweight chassis with a highly refined suspension. couple it with a 6 speed and voila, a better option.

i thought hybrids were a good idea at first, but then as they started getting more miles on them, they appeared to me to be a bunch of hype.

an efficient 4 cyl would deliver the economy of that hybrid at significantly less cost. look at first gen neons, they would hit 40mpg without trying. imagine a refined engine with lighter components (which directly translates to more power), 40mpg and 200 - 250hp is easily achievable. put that in a 2000lb car, and hold on.

i put this in the same category as the VW Tourag diesel that pulled the boeing... a publicity stunt. i highly doubt this car will make it to production, it is probably just a way to create a buzz.

what ever happened to the 70 mpg geo metro? My brother had one back in 89 and that sucker, i kid you not, could drive on a 7 gallon tank of gas from KC to Springfield and back, only half a tank!

My wife owned one before I met her and hers got over 50mpg and it was a 4dr... you see, the economy is out there, but who wants to drive em??? I say get rid of all SUV's and only supply mini-vans to people if you have 3 or more kids, and trucks can only be used if you are self-employeed, or in construction of some sort. Other than that, everyone drives economy cars and sports cars.

There, solved.

i guess people that have a hobby that involves hauling stuff around, ie. racing, hunting, 4 wheeling, etc, are screwed.

:withstupid:

The fact that it's a Toyota kills it for me as well. Toyotas (now anyway) are either really boring, really ugly, or both, with the exception of the Corolla S. I actually have to say that I don't mind it. I just love the hybrid thing because poor suckers will go buy a Prius with the idea that they'll get 60mpg, then take it out on the highway and it gets 40... exactly what a Corolla gets, and the Corolla does it for less money and actually looks like a car.

In conclusion for the subject of this post (all things that have been said already):

Strike 1: HYBRID
Strike 2: CONCEPT
Strike 3: TOYOTA
