Post by quicksilvr » Sun Jan 14, 2007 2:09 am

Hey, what do you guys and gals think the most frequently asked questions are here on the site? You can list one, or 100....I'm just curious what everyone thinks, or what you seem to be seeing alot of. Thanks for any input. 8)

^^ why? I think the point is for it to be shared directly here, not on some other website? Anywho, I think there should also be something about questions answering the mag swap, dohc from a 1gn (possibilities?) and atx to mtx swap... :)

-What springs drop how much
-Turbo
-What exhaust set up to use
-What rim will fit
-basic upgrades

-chage of body parts
-what type of crane to use
-attempt to explain NYG
-nitrous set up

i think that's the basic amount.

Thanks mang! 8)

Also, if anyone has any pictures that illustrate any specific part, post them up. I really need pictures of cars dropped on different springs...that's the first one that comes to mind.

If anyone has had experience with a specific part or modification and you have info or knowledge that you learned first hand from doing something yourself, post it up here, or pm me.

Also, I need more questions! 8) There will never be too many questions!

Changed the topic to a Global Announcement to help make it a little more noticeable incase a lot of people aren't seeing it.

Suspension:

1. Differences between Energy and Prothane suspension bushings

2. Sway Bar sizes stock and from aftermarket as well as the differences such as Progress = Solid bars where Hotchkis = Hollow and the pros and cons of each.

3. Traction Bushings - What are they and how do they help traction

4. Traction Bars - again, what are they and how do they help

Turbo:

1. Turbo the car using an SRT-4 Turbo setup w/ Mattog Adaptor - Can it be done with possibly a brief how-to to jump start peoples thinking or at least get the ball rolling. I wouldn't think it'd have to be step by step by step, just enough to give the person the general idea.

Tuning:

1. Differences between RRFPR, 1:1 Regulator, and Standalone

2. When or why you need a Wideband.

3. Why a narrowband o2 is for the most part, useless.

Motor Swap:

1. SRT Swap How-To, required parts, things like that... refect said he was going to try and work on getting something together for that awhile back so he may be able to help you out.

Thats about all I have right now...

Also something like

1. Bulb Sizes
2. Paint Codes
3. Differences between years
4. Production Numbers - Can be a little hard to get Dodge to give you that information if you have to go to them for certain years :-(
5. Option Package discriptions like what is the Sport Appearance Package, Driver Convenience, ect..

Narrow bands aren't useless!!! They entertain small children in the back seat, as well as give a nice light show for those times of years when they are appropriate, ie. new years, 4th, conco de mayo... :D

I say we need something to have common upgrades with aftermarket or pt parts. Like axle's from a pt.

tire sizes that fit on sxt's and srt's

also, a list of the PROPER wheel sizes for the common 205/40/17 and 215/40/17 tires

edit:

heres some info
205/40/17 - should use a wheel between 7" and 8"
215/40/17 - should use a wheel between 7" and 8.5", one brand i looked at needed 7.5" - 8.5"

i was given a link when looking for alero wheels.

after a little bit of goofing around i found that you can look for the bolt pattern, and wheel size for many many cars.

i figured this would help those looking for cheap wheel alternatives. it just doesnt solve the fitting over the brakes issue.

http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com ... erence.cfm

you can go to that link and click on the links to see info about different OEM wheel specs.

Thanks for input everyone. I'm still working on it...it's been on the back burner for a bit this summer (buying a house, moving, new job, etc), but it's coming along.

Please keep throwing stuff out here, no matter how simple or how complex....you're probably not the ONLY one with that question. :)

I think it would be beneficial to have a thread or part of the FAQ listing respectable online stores for neon parts (Modern, Summit, etc).

I agree. A list of things a person can bolt onto their car and what kind of gains they might receive from them would be awesome!
