Finished Wheel Project.
i always wanted to do something with my r/t wheels, so i stripped em and painted em white.
some people wont like the white, im skeptical, my buddies said go white and i could have cared less sooooo...
i'll get bored of this soon and next time i think im gonna go bronze.

I can't really say I like it on silver. Have you considered gunmetal?
I was gonna say black with a red lip, but I see in your sig that you've done that before...

Don't think that works on those wheels. Too many spokes, no depth to them.
Atleast you were thinking outside the box.

lol poor to be honest...
aircraft stripper took off most of the clear and paint but left the surface full of imperfections...i sanded what i could, their roughly smooth haha, i then painted with sandable primer...sanded...flat white x 2 ...sanded...then went over it with 2 coats of gloss white for shinier look...then used duplicolour wheel coating...2 coats of that.
im also waiting on extended wheel studs and open ended red lug nuts.

the silverstones actually look pretty good in white. they look decent on silver but i bet they would look even better on a darker color. nice work.

well, i am somewhat partial to white wheels. i had some a number of years back. they are usually pretty hard to pull off and depend a lot on the wheel style and color of the car. i say rock them for awhile unless you rly don't like them.flhmfd wrote:...hul kogan is the first person to say something even remotely positive haha.

If you have the original, post that up. Then I will have a comment for you.

not bad, good job on the paint too. Question about the aircraft stripper you used... did you remove the tires when you did it? If not, is there anything to worry about with the stripper and the tires? I was gonna use the stuff on my wheels to remove all the paint/clearcoat and redo them this year, but am afraid of ruining my $500 tirs.
Thanks.
