I am about to run into a load of money and my car is payed off. What would you do with $25000? Buy a new car or mod a neon?

Save.. but 12500 in the bank and then mod the F out of your car. for that kind of scratch you could have a well rounded show/performance machine....

I'd 2.4t the neon, with a complete rebuild on the swap motor, fix any other issues with the car so it's good for another 75-100k miles, then invest and save the rest.

Spend a few K on the car, a few K on other stuff you want, and put at least half of it in the bank. Maybe even lock some in a high interest account. I would never come across money like that so who am I to talk. First thing i'd do is shit my pants. Then hopefully follow the above plan.

Toss about 20,000 in the bank, half of that into a high interest savings.

Neither one.

$25,000 or $1,000,000... I would put it ALL away and carry on with life as though I had never received the cash.

If it were me? $8K into the car, rest in the bank/investments/SOMETHING to make more cash.

Put 10K down on measy's car, finance 5K so that you have some credit, and put the rest in an high interest loan.

Have a little fun, but definitely put the large majority in savings. ING is a decent higher interest, and still liquid savings.

put 5-10k into youre car swap it and fix every issue so you have a reliable car then invest the rest

Agreed... put the money to better use in the bank having it work for you and making you money. Invest wisely though.

Alright I guess i should have explained better. I will be getting a lot more money than that. I have set aside $25000 for vehicle use. I have a house, great job making more than double my bills a month, and I won't be going to a university until 2010. My car is a big thing for me and I am set in all other aspects of my life.

If you're going to university, spend $0 on the car and save all $25k, you'll need it. Just because you have a "boat load" of money now doesn't mean you will in the future when you need it.
