Review of the "God toaster"

Post by Mr Josh Zombie » Tue Mar 31, 2009 8:10 pm

Although, there isn't much hype on 2gn about my new toaster (most of the talk was on my local forums), I figured I'd share my latest purchase anyways. I call it, The God Toaster, because it is quite possibly the greatest toaster ever known to man. :D

Item name: Back to Basics 4-slot 2-egg toaster
Price: 59.99 on amazon.com
Rating: 10/10

Little story. I was looking for a toaster last week, as I do not own one and needed it for the apartment, and I came across this beauty. I had no fucking idea they made toasters that ALSO cooked eggs and heated meat! It astounded me! I had to have one!

Well, after only about a 4 day wait (including the weekend) it was at my doorstep!

Unpacked and sitting on my tiny fucking counter:
Image

A little tear down of the egg compartment:

Place already cooked meat on this grill:
Image

Eggs go here:
Image

And below this grill, you place the water (it's a steam cooker):
Image

It's all easy enough! Place the slices of toast in:
Image

Eggs go in their "pans":
Image

All ready!
Image

And now I wait...
Image

Eggs being slowly steamed:

Image

Just to let you know, no matter what darkness your toast setting is, it'll stay down until the eggs are cooked as well. It takes about 4 minutes total, and the toast staying down like it does keeps it nice and warm!

Look at this perfect cooking!

The eggs are cooked throughly as well.

Toss some cheese and salsa on that bitch:

and enjoy!!

So far, me and the girlfriend LOVE this thing. It was the best $60 I've ever spent on an appliance. We're able to eat egg sandwiches every morning, and the whole thing is done in about 5 minutes. It's the perfect get up and go meal.

I give my full approval and encourage EVERYONE to buy one. They also have 2 slot, 1 egg toasters for all the bachelors out there!

Go buy, NOW!!

Whoa!

I think I found something I need to sit next to the George Foreman, Kitchen Aid mixer, and keg-erator.

Awsome.

Wow, I should probably buy my GF one of those. She loves poached eggs. The fact that its a freakin huge toaster, and the brand is called Back to Basics makes me laugh. The only downside I see is having your meat grease fall on top of your eggs. God if that didn't sound bad I don't know what does. I guess it doesn't matter though if its all going in a kickass sandwich

I remember when I worked for Target and we first started selling that thing..

I wouldn't really have any use for it. I don't eat eggs very often.. and when I do I want them to be dippy.

That's awesome lol.

What takes about 30 minutes to prepare can now take 5 minutes or less to do. Are they expensive?

Now there's a reason to go shopping. I don't have a toaster at home, just an old broiler. Instant Canadian bacon FTW!

$35 for the 2 slice, 1 egg
$60 for the 4 slice, 2 egg

So not badly priced. Saves me the pain of having a pan to clean up, takes a fraction of the time, and i don't have to pay any attention to the food while I'm getting ready for work.

Now, you mention pre cooked meats in your original post... does that mean I have to cook my bacon before cooking my bacon in that toaster?

the toaster doesn't cook meat, it only warms it up.

That's why I try to emphasize "pre-cooked" meat. I plan to just cook a bunch of meat, and toss it in the fridge.
