Help! code 0340 cps & 0325 ks

Help! code 0340 cps & 0325 ks

I have had my 05 running this 340 code on and off regulary now for some time. No signal crank shaft position sensor at pcm. When it trips, engine will not fire and cranks for 3 to 5 seconds. It then starts, (ding) rings the code and the cor will not rev past 2300 rpms. Its like rev limiter (vrum-m-m-m-m-m), till get into the gas. Then it bogs bad and sends a cough back through the intake (vrumm-ah-mmmm-POP). Its like it is going so far out of time b/c the cps has no signal. Duh, makes sense right. Well i have a piggy back chip and thought that was the problem, no. Bad wire/short, dont think so. Bent pin on pcm or harnes, maybe. The 0325 code has only come up recently and only once.? It also has done this while driving!(4 lanes of trafic not fun) It starts fine usualy in the morn, and later for lunch break it usualy freaks. trip home its fine. Sometimes it will be ok for a few days. Help guys its pissin me off! and i dont want to get raped at the dealership for exploritory work i have already been doing.

I checked it out. Did the replacement clear the problem?

Basically you are going to have to either: buy a new sensor and install it/ check the wiring for any problems or take it to a shop and let them replace it for much more $ than you doing it.

I look at it this way: sensor about $50 ish

If that doesn't clear it then it is that much less you have to pay towards getting it repaired.

Replace it yourself. A 5 year old can do it. I paid 20.99 at Autozone for my replacement, and it has a 2 year warrenty. I took the battery out to access it easier. There's also a how to floating around. Good luck

May as well start them early. I was fixing my bicycle at 8.

Well i located one i didnt have to order. $24 compared to $54 at the dealership. Im letting the car cool so i can replace it on my lunch break. I will post results.
