So I went to grab the one thing that might get this car broken into for...A full set of srt4 rims with decent tires. They were pretty dirty but they cleaned up well. There are some black scuffs here and there and one rim has a very small area of curb rash but all in all not bad for a throw in...guy had no use for em and didnt want to mess with taking the two off the car. Here are some pics....probably going to sell them!

And here is everything minus the center pillars that I need to grab....the car looked much better once I got those peices out! I hate it when people get rattle can crazy on interior parts...

I am either going to keep the parts so I can return my rt to stock or I am going to part it out to help fund the project!

Why? You want something???

UPDATE: I went to the jy today and picked up all the interior parts I needed except the center column bezel for 9 bux!

This is going to be cheaper than I thought.

I dont see the point in painting any of the interior peices! I understand where you are coming from though....completely pointless!

I just think spray painted interiors look cheap. Its the first thing someone does short of spinner hub caps if they have no money but want to customize their cars.....eeerggg :beatstick:

Besides the fuse box covers....pillars and vents drive me nuts when they're painted any color other than dash color.

I like the exterior with the skirts and spoiler. Throw on some fog delete plates and a set of flat black 15” Slipstreams and I’d rock it.

I like the skirts but I dont like the spoiler! I am inthe process of locating a spoilerless lid. As for the fog light holes....kinda hard to find the delete panels but I would like to put some on and there will be a set of rotas going on. The ones that are currently on my rt, they are gunmetal but I was looking into haveing them powder coated due to some repairs that are needed. I may go black with em!

One thing to remember is that the ACRs didn't uses fog delete plates because the openings were supposed to provide addition cooling for the brakes. I never liked the mounting tabs being exposed on my bumper, so I cut them out to make the openings look smoother...

Yeah those tabs are why I was thinking about getting the delete panels. Good idea on taking them off! I will have to do this to both of my cars, my rt didnt come with fogs either!

I should be picking the car up today. My life is busy and I dont have a truck. Luckily my friend is a good one and always seems to have just enough free time for when I need to pick up cars that ive bought.

Once I get it I will immediatly tear out all of the interior for a thourough deep cleaning. From there, the interior will go back together with new panels, shampood carpet, shampood headliner, and shampood seats. Then it will be on to the motor!

I like this thread. Very nice. Can't wait to see it all come together.

As far as interior rattle-canned pieces... I was a nüb back then. This weekend I'm probably going to repaint my painted pieces black.

UPDATE:

I finally had a chance to pick the car up today! A buddy of mine came to my place to take the srt rims off my hands and happened to have the day free so I recruited him.

We tried to drive it up onto the trailer but it would not run well enough. It did not knock at all! But....the number one piston dropped so it was running on three cylinders and it kept revving very high on its own so I wouldnt let it run for more than a few moments. Another thing that it did which was wierd was it would back fire and smoke would come out from under the intake mani....very strange! Dont worry, I didnt run it for long at all. Just wanted to see if it would atleast make it up onto the trailer, but we ended up just pushing it.

The cleaning has already started. I began by pulling what seemed like an entire spool of stereo wireing out. This thing had wires going everywhere! I went ahead and placed the new dash peices in which made it look a lot better. Sometime this week I will start removing everyting from the interior down to the bear metal. I plan to remove all of the sound deadening from behind the dash and under the carpet while i am at. Then I will detail everything as it goes back in. I might end up getting a new headliner due to the smoke stains and I know I need to be on the lookout for a lower half of the rt style back seat as this one has a separated seam.

Then its onto the motor work...if not sooner!

Pics will come in due time!

Update!

Things are about to get interesting. I found a 2002 pt cruiser in the yard today. It also has the 5 speed which is a 3.94/.72 5th for better fuel economy. I may switch the entire drive train! There were also two other worthy 2.4's but they were older and I am pulling that tranny no matter what so I may just have to make that pt 2.4 work.

I will be yanking this thing tomorrow....and Im taking my camera.

Pics will be up tomorrow!

I pulled the whole engine and tranny from the pt today. Left all the accessories on accept the ac pump to make sure i dont run into any issues with fitment.

The thing is clean!!! Pulled the valve cover and it looked really good. I need to locate an srt intake manny but other than that this thing is ready to drop in.

I may change the timing belt and water pump now but I may just wait till i get my ported head ready to go on before I mess with that. First goal is to simply get this thing in and running!

If there is any interest in an acr tranny with 97,XXX miles on it let me know. I am also going to get rid of the intake mani for 200.00 plus shipping if anyone wants that. The header will be available too but I will make a fs add before I get too deep into what I am letting go of.

keep this thread alive guys

I am about to go play so I will have pics up shortly. I need an srt style intake manifold so if anyone has one PLEASE let me know. I would be willing to work out a deal if you are interested in my parts I am selling!!!

Make me an offer on the tranny. It was a dealer replacement so there are actually quite a bit fewer miles on it than 97,000. That is just the total miles on the car and I forgot the tranny was replaced under warranty.
