From what i remember, all 2gn come with a plastic one stock...patton98 wrote:does ne one know of ne 2gn's with one of these...if so can i get some pics??..how hard is this to make
maybe I'm wrong...
even so, they wouldn't work are well as one like this.
Do 1gn's have overheating issues where one of these is needed?
Have you seen any real decrease in temperature?

D: nope. especially since i ripped it off on a gnarly parking lot exit Friday.
i picked it up, but havent got around to puttin it back on yet.
and Vitor makes these for 2nd gens. but D, how does the stock plastic 1 on the 2gns help airflow when the rest of it connects to the bumper, blocking off any airflow from the bottom? replacing the stock piece with one on a 2nd gen would increase airflow to the radiator.

i wouldn't imagine it would be enough of a difference to notice on a stock temp gauge. but maybe on a digital temp gauge it would be noticeable.
and yes, the 1gs have a stock one as well, but the 1g stocker only attachs the the radiator support, it doesn't have the piece that goes to the bumper like the 2gns do.

thanks. i stripped out the mounting holes when i ripped it off, so i'm gonna bolt it on next time with some lock nuts. i knew the stock mounting hardware wasn't very reliable because they didn't seem to seat very well when i put it on to begin with. it'll prolly go back on the bender as well, put a bit more of a "rake" to it.

you know what stainless means right? Stain Less, as in it won't rust as much, but it will still rust.
Paint it.
looks good otherwise.

TNK: please refrain from ever posting that blue "R/T" again. No, not even for similar purposes. Seeing it makes me both angry and sad. Thank you. Please repair and reinstall your airdam soon.
