z3roneo's log: Neon is still sitting..
Intro:
Finally I start my own progress thread.. My 1st thread was when I modded a civic lip to fit the 02 bumper.. I didn't consider it as a real progress thread. I seen it more as a how to.. This thread will cover everything I do to my car for now own.. I have alot of ideas that I've been working on since I got my car back.. I'll be modding a hell of alot so please check up on me and help motivate me to do more..
I don't really like typing as much cuz it suxs.. I rather post a crap load of pics instead... So make sure you have a good internet source cuz I'll post lots and lots and lots of pics..
Progress:
Well lets get started shall we..
I wrote out everything I wanted to do today on my lil board.
Yesterday I ordered another srt gauge pod and dark slate interior spray can.. I picked those up early this morning and while I was out, I picked up another dash, a set of a-pillars and another armrest.. The dash and pillars will be going in the car while the armrest will be sitting on the back burner for vacuum forming (see my picture thread for more details on that).
I decided to get another dash so I more have more time to work on my Custom Frogeyed Dash..
It doesn't need that much more time to be finished but I rather use that time to work on the car more so that it can get some paint..
Here's my old modded Srt gauge pod that I made to work with the non srt dash next to the new gauge pod..
{The Srt Gauge is forsale.. It stills at zero and will come with a blue 194 inverted led and pigtail.. Pm me if you're interested..
}
My glowshift boost gauge is the same length as the Srt stocker which is very good but the mounting screws are in different locations..
And my glowshift Fuel Pressure Gauge is longer than the stocker and doesn't really sit in the pod too good..
So I had to hollow out both pods in order to house the glowshift's.. Dremmel Away!!!!!
After that I taped them together in a staggered position and test the look on the dash..
Then I took the dash and pods downstairs to the car and mounted the pods using high strength double sided tape... Yep that what I said, double sided taped.. I used it ont he edges where the pods will meet the dash..
Looks about right.. So I took the dash mounted pods back upstairs to prepare for surgery.. I unscrewed and unpopped the insert off and outlined where it needed to be chopped..
Test fit..
Needed a lil more trimming for the wirring and boost hose..
I reinstalled the insert and marked where it needed to be cut.. Then I took the insert back out and began trimming..
Another test fit and everything was ready to go back in car..
I then began prepping the a-pillars for the stick srt interior paint.. I grabbed a scuff pad and scuffed them up a bit.. Then I hit them with 2 coats of adhesive promoter... and lastly 2 shots of color..
And finally installed the a-pillars and dash with pods.. Which came out very Great..
The dash was cake walk since I've had some experience doing it multiply times.. I didn't have too much time to work on the back bumper which I plan on installing tomorrow.. I didn't get a chance to work on the radio relocator cuz I had to pick the gf up from work and pick up a package from my mom's..
Here's the radio relocator which is actually the cd chubby holder..
I might have to end up pushing this piece to my weekday projects cuz it really doesn't need alot of time to finish..
I also have to get some paint for it cuz it'll be matched to the car..
My package came in today that contained these bad boys..
I'm gonna put these on tomorrow as well as my front inner wheel well plastic..
These will soon replace the fog deletes once I work some fiberglass magic on them..
I tried the vacuum formed plastic on them but I didn't like the way they came out.. So I'll be making fiberglass covers on them instead...
Might move them to the week projects as well..
Bout to plan for tomorrow peeps..
Later..

Thanxs crystal.. I love it some much that I have two.. One is for heavy duty stuff (plug in wall) and the other one I pack around with me (rechargable battery)..
The best damn tool that any modder will need..

Nate: Better get another one cuz mines will have a full time job
Tam: You can get the interior spray from the dealer for about $7 bucks a can. The p/n is 05069094AA. And the fogs will be done once I hunt down another bezel piece for it..
SlvrACR: I'm gonna see soon if I can make replicas with the vacuum former.. Its wroth a shot..
I woke up today pretty early to start on some more stuff so I'll post up some pics in a bit..
Here's what I wanna do today..
I'll probably end up doing more but these are on my mind right now..

Ntyvirus: I recently bought another 03+ rear bumper that has some lil scratches and dings to work on.. I have an 03 on that didn't have the x's in the inside of the bumper for the mopar rear lip. The 04 one that I now have does.. It just takes the guess work out of it and makes it go alot quicker..
Crystal: told you I like pics..

smiley: yes.. It matches my 00 dash perfectly..
The weather really suxd today so I wasn't able to work on my doors, mount the avs wing, and finish up on my bumper..
I took the side marker delete covers inside and painted them semi gloss black, installed the fog light delete panels, and mounting the wheel well plastic which were a pita cuz of my huge ass tires...
And here's a shot of my neon next to kristin's compass..
Was able to sand down the radio relocator a bit but couldn't really add more filler to it cuz of the cold weather houston is having right now..
End of the day..
Its suppose to rain tomorrow so I'll work on the relocator a lil bit more.. Besides that I'm gonna place a $500 dollar order at the dealer tomorrow morning that I should recieve in about a week or so..
Trust me everyone will like what I'll be getting...
Hope we have good weather next weekend cuz I plan on doing exterior body work like work on the doors and molding the avs into the trunk lid..
Updates on the Mopar Rug..
Its getting there..

ZeroChad: I'm using the projector fogs from a es300.. They originally had yellow lenses but I swapped them off for some clear ones from another projector.
Crystal: Yea they are tiny but I never really use them for anything big.. I'll have to check into the paint you use once I get done with some of my bigger pieces..
Nate: I did.. I used double side tape around the edge of the pods.. The pod and gauge aren't that heavy so it'll hold up.. Both pods are held to the dash with the double sided tape and the 2nd pod (fuel pressure pod) is wedged between to the top dash and bottom dash.. It ain't going now where..
darthroush: thanxs bro.. But you haven't seen nothing yet.. I'm starting with the easy stuff 1st.. Once that's all done, I'll move into my one off piece that I'm gonna build..

dtjackten: yes sir.. Its the s2000 start button..
neonslg09: thanxs bro..
Here's my lil plan for the week..
I got my spares ready to play with and I took the door inserts to my mom so she can get creative with them..
Couldn't order my surprise goodies for the dealer today cuz my friend wasn't there ..
I ordered another can of my blue paint for some more custom pieces..
And this came in today..
Its my new coolant holder... Very pretty.. If it doesn't get ugly out tomorrow, I'll put'er in and take some shots..
And I'll have these trimmed out tomorrow..
