? Competition coupe? Is it a reward car? They usually go really cheap.

Supposedly there's finally going to be a patch to fix the oil slick of a drag strip soon and this summer there will be a jalopnik download pack with an Omni GLHS and a Syclone. I can't wait for either of those.

My friend and I were doing some pretty fun racing the other night. We chose the mile long Sedona drag strip and did roll racing. The best races were using one car with a acceleration advantage and another with a top speed advantage. We would just get side by side at whatever speed we chose, usually 30-50, and one of us would count to 3 and we'd hit it. I guess it'll do until the traction issue is fixed on the drag strip.

My buddy and I were playing Forza 3 and we were using similar cars in the same class and doing mile drag racing. Stock SRT-4 smokes Cobalt SS so bad.

Roll races, never thought about that. You could brake boost the car and see if there was an advantage.

I never tried brake boosting because I figured it wouldn't work in the game, but it might. Our best races were between my AWD 550ish hp SRT and my Camaro SS which I think is around 650ish. Since the SRT was AWD it'd instantly hook and scoot off to about a 1 1/2 car length, while the SS would spin a little and slowly play catch-up. The SS would usually pull hard and get to the SRT, then the SRT would pull slightly, and ultimately the SS would edge it out when they really got moving.

If you match them up right to give both cars advantages in seperate areas, the races are a hell of a lot of fun. We also found out that the mid range cars (400-700 hp) were a lot more fun and better racing than the high end cars (700+). Bone stock Chevy Aveos, Honda Fits, VW Beetles, Toyota Yaris', etc. are pretty comical too.

If you wanna do some roll racing use the back straight stretch on the old LeMans circuit if there's more than 2 people. If it's just 2 people, the Sedona mile drag strip works well.

Another fun thing my friends and I do is Pinks style racing. There's just been 3 of us doing it, so the setup we use is:

-Set a budget (including the cost of the car)
-Set some rules about the cars (drivetrain limits, import/domestic, etc.)
-No assists allowed
-Race at Benchmark so everyone can be side by side
-2 qualifying runs, use your quickest time
-#2 and #3 race best 3 out of 5 while #1 plays the role of negotiator and race starter
-Winner of #2 and #3 races #1, loser negotiates and starts
-Overall winner is gifted losers cars

Since you can't see an armdrop through a microphone, once both racers are ready the starter just says "go", so it's random like an armdrop. It's fun to see what everyone comes up with on the set budget and negotiating things to make the races as close as possible. It's fun to watch the auction house like a hawk to try to score the best deal so most of your budget goes towards mods too. lol

Suave, my brother and I do something similar... but instead of the mic saying go. It's watching the clock ticking and say just go when it hits 6 or 23 or something of that sort.

We also use the nurgunburg (sp yes i know) track and use the long straight a way for roll races.

Nice...the reason why we randomly say go is so neither racer knows when it's gonna happen. The reason I prefer LeMans' straight to Nurburgring's is because Nurburgring's goes uphill at one point. LeMans' is nice and flat, but there is a gradual curve to deal with, if the race lasts long enough.

Make sure it's the old circuit. The new circuit has a couple kinks in the straight, but the old circuit doesn't.

Send me a fr and maybe we can get some roll racing going sometime, gt is xMOPAR MANIACx

I've been trying to max out an old VW Rabbit to its full potential as a drag car. Still only does the 1/4th in 9.1s though :-(
