 baddd idea. yeah, I'm pretty sure it's coming from the sunroof drain tubes somehow. Now just to figure out why.

Well I'm not sure what the sunroof looks like open because the switch is disconnected since the sunroof is broken like they all inevitably do. Maybe I'll mess with that in the spring when it's warmer out. I know replacement parts can be bought from someone like the sunroofdoctor I believe it is but they're over $100 and not really worth it to me. I just want the leak gone for now.

Remove the glass itself via the six torx screws that are in there. No need to power it open, pop the glass and peer inside like a creeper....see what you can see.

You should go ahead and go BACK to getting Konig Daylites. If you don't, I might just have to. Especially after you hatted on my recent selection.

Well it's spring break and yesterday and today we had great weather so I utilized it and made some great progress on the molded AVS spoiler/trunk lid project that everyone says will never see the light of day. Not only is that not true but it will be better than it was originally. I had some issues at the edges so I cut the ends of the spoiler off and fiberglassed some new material in. The way the current design is it will sit FLUSH with the quarter panels and won't stick up where the spoiler was molded on. I hated this since I started but the fiberglass was so thick that's the way it had to be. Well, I decided to change all that.

I threw some primer on it to protect the bare metal

It still needs more sanding a few imperfections filled but it's nearing paint day. I'll be excited to get this done. Hopefully it doesn't all crack to shit once it's done

Looks good man, very nice work so far. How long did it take you to mold it properly?

haha man I couldn't even estimate how many hours I have in this thing. I'd say over 40 hrs from start to where I'm currently at. If I were gonna do it all over again I'd do a few things differently. First I'd get a CF version since they are MUCH thinner and will blend in easier. Second, I'd shell out the money for some 3M panel bond or something to make sure it's properly attached. I cut the edges off yesterday and fiberglassed new sections in then did the filler work today. The sanding is the worst part since it's so tedious trying to make sure it's perfectly smooth

All in all, at least you kept with it and you are close to finishing it. I can't wait to see the finished product

Haha, yes. definitely a PITA but I'm determined to finish it. Yeah there was a CF one for sale recently. I believe Contagious bought it.

mmmmmmmmmmmm....

Yeah, that may be the next thing I do after my hood project.

Can't wait to see how your CF version comes out. AND if you get done before I do, I would love to hear how laying the CF went for you

Thanks Hanksen, but I think you misunderstood me. Maybe I was unclear. I'm not wrapping this in CF, I was saying if I were going to do it again I'd use a CF AVS replica since it's thinner. I think wrapping it in CF would be way over my head

Looks great Ryan. If you were to do it again you could always buy the CF or FG PVO trunk from CBD and save all the hassle in the world :D

Very true, but I don't wanna drop all that bread on the FG one and then have to have it painted. Granted I've spent a lot on this project already, its still not as much as one of theirs would cost. Also, I've heard people are having problems with the layers separating
