I took a pic of almost every neon at the show and will try to post them up soon
Here is something I posted up on the org.
Started off the weekend by driving to Harry's U-Pull in Hazelton, PA on Thur night/all day Friday.
Lots of crushed cars.......
75 first gn neons
22 second gn
10 MTX shifters
18 2.4 engines......probably more because I didn't pop the hoods
3 PT cruisers
1 ACR
1 R/T
PT with leather interior
1998 ACR which looked mint but was pretty well stripped......the koni's were swapped for KYBs, but the springs looked like the originals. The head/intake were slightly ported.
got an iceman battery tray for $6, two leather shift knobs, two sets of floor mats, and a door panel for my 96 ACR.
Drove back to Carlisle Friday evening and spent some time at a local Chrysler's Kick-off car show in their parking lot.......
and slept in my car at the fairgrounds....
Spent most of Saturday taking pics, talking, and watching guys dyno......There had to be nearly 80+ neons in the showfield.........
2GN.ORG tent provided by the Carlisle Event organizers......
Canada dyno'in his 1st gn with 2.4 swap........267 HP. :good:
Swapping out starter so Chris can start his car after they stalled it on the dyno.....
A trashed NYG......
Headed for 3 Mile Island (Nuclear Power Plant) to take group photo with 2GN.ORG guys......
Then headed to the motel/Pizza Hut for refreshments and awards.......
And back to the hotel parking lot to hang out for the rest of the evening........the brake pads came completely off the shoe and were tumbling around in the drum so these gentlemen found parts and swapped them in around 10:30 PM.
Drove back to the fairgrounds late and slept in my car again.......I tried to walk around and see/take as many pics as I could on Sunday morning because I didn't have time on Fri/Sat. This one was for sale.
It's quite apparent where they got the Viper concept.....from my car
Replacing new exhaust with new exhaust.....
Just as I was ready to leave, a guy pulled up with a really nice NYG and asked us what it would sell for........I told him around $3,000. It had a new paint job, interior was real nice.....the tranny went out and was replaced with a 3.55 and if I recall 150,000 miles on the odometer. He said it was his mother's and might be up for sale in a few weeks. He was from CT so if you're interested, you might want to watch on the boards or craigslist for it.
I then drove for about a half hour to the Giant Center at Hershey Park. Mark and Blair were supposed to auto-cross.
Blair broke on his first run and spent the rest of the afternoon in the hot sun trying to fix it.
Got home around 8:00 on Sunday evening........fantastic weekend. :good:

^^Never been to one. I'm up for it.
EDIT: Wait, I forgot. I did go to a junkyard once back in high school to get passenger assist straps and B-pillar coat hangers for my VW Beetle. But that was a long time ago and prowling around for Neon parts would definitely be a new experience for me.

Don't feel bad Trinity, there are a lot of people who would love to have one, even if it is trashed........and besides, I have a NYG coupe which is probably in worse condition than yours, so I have no room to make negative comments about your car. I too am hoping to restore mine to a much better condition and return to Carlisle with it in the next few years.Trinity wrote:im sure it was a nice NYG at some point... a few owners before me (like.. mabe when the first one had it) LOLpa acr wrote: A trashed NYG......

The one on the right gets me every time. What a cutie.
Finally stuck all my pictures on my computer. I'll go through them soon.

Here's all my pics. I'm obviously NOT a photographer like half of the people who show up every year. All these were taken with a 6-year-old point-and-shoot.

Mike, I PM'd you with your rolling shot so you can have the high(ish) resolution pic.
