And that's not just as fucking loud as what I'm trying to undo now. Actually... I even have the camaro tip sitting right here to do it. I never would in a million years though. It sounds like ass and hangs too low.

My car with two spiralflows is ungodly loud when it's under load. The drone is enough to deafen you.

Very true, so I think that should be added to the "fast" list you have going on.

Don't worry about the list I have going on..... :uptosomething:

Need to call the muffler shop tomorrow morning and see if they can squeeze me in tomorrow afternoon (highly doubtful) or Monday afternoon.

Long story short... after 6 hrs at the exhaust shop today I finally sort of have an exhaust setup. Without tips. Anyway, no pictures or anything further about that right now because I'm disgusted. There's nothing "cheap" about this setup. I could've fucking bought the legit Thermal R&D SRT catback for the same price as I paid for all the exhaust shit, labor, and parts I've bought that ended up being made to not work.

I will say the car is super quiet now. I'm hoping it will get a little meaner as the muffler wears in because it's not much louder than stock.

/going to bed.

Not exactly, I didn't make what I was trying to say clear. They charged me $150 for the work done yesterday which isn't terrible, but that fact that it took 6 hrs and I'm dissatisfied makes it seem too high to me, but whatever. I meant including buying all parts including:

-3 2.5" band clamps (got the butt joint style, can't use) $8 each
-2 2.5" lap style clamps (they used the wrong size pipe so they won't work...) $8 each
-2 4" tips 10" long (the way he bent the pipe they won't fit) $60
-piping and mufflers ~$250
- labor total so far $250
- Borla SRT rear section $100

etc.. I paid way too much for this shitty setup. I could've had a legit setup for what was wasted in this, but it's not worth thinking about the price because then it makes it not even worth it anymore and I want to enjoy the hobby, so it is what it is.

I just read that summit will return items for a refund, however you have to pay to ship the stuff back.

They used the wrong size pipe for the piece they made and did not swage it out to fit. They crushed the pipe with a U bolt clamp and since the pipe was the wrong size, they then booger welded the pipe on. Now I can't take the rear section off and the entire system is fully welded... Awesome!

After searching more I found some Magnaflow stainless tips that are 5.25" inches long so they should do. That's another $74. Hopefully they'll be here tomorrow.

Check out my super awesome slotted tips, y0!

booger welded pipe that was wrong size instead of swaging it out. Not being able to remove rear section. priceless.

I'd take it back and make them redo it the right way. Plus your tips seem to be hanging too low.

Get the manager to have someone else fix it instead of the retarded one-armed fuckhead who apparently did it?

It was the shop manager that did most of the work... which is why it took him all day to do it. He had to keep stopping to answer the phone, book appts, deal with retards, etc. I just want the tips welded on and to never go back there again. Fuck it. It's done now.

Are they going to weld the tips on for free when you get them, or do you have to pay for that too?

I'm not saying I could do a better job on the welds, since I've never welded before, but it looks like a retarded monkey did those. I hope when I have the money to put an exhaust on my car that they don't weld that bad...

Sean... I don't know but I'm hoping they don't try to charge me for that. It's not my fault they couldn't do that yesterday since they fucked up the piping.

Sabersoul - agreed, however, they were actually having problems with the welder slagging up so it wasn't entire their fault. The dude that decided to booger weld my joint on should be shot though.

Damn. That's about how my old exhaust was welded. Hopefully your tips sit up a bit higher. I'd be pissed going through all this, but once it's done it's DONE so rock it.

^exactly... I literaly CANNOT care about this anymore. I'm so fed up with it. I'm going to try to angle the tips up as far as possible, then maybe use worm clamps around the hangers to pull it up some.

Wait.... a SHOP did those welds?

Seriously, I taught myself how to weld in minutes on my buddies welder and I welded up an exhaust that was FAR superior than that (weld wise)

My God... seriously, take that garbage back.

This. I can weld better than that with one eye. If the welder wasn't working properly they should've stopped, put it back together and told you to come back another day. That's gonna leak like a sieve.

I went there because Matt used the guy and recommended him. It is a Monro muffler. I stood there the entire time...

Again... I did this. Turns out my standards must be higher than others. Yes it was their fault with the welder.

Fuck it.

maybe just maybe if the welds penetrated enough metal you can go in there with a grinder and clean up the access welds :dontknow:

I dunno, the first welds were "good". They didn't look that great, but they were penetrating. Then when the other guy started welding it was going ok for a bit (his welds weren't the best) then the welder kept slagging up and he started fucking with the amperage. I'm gonna try to somehow get under there and get it coated in VHT high temp exhaust paint. Would've been much easier if I could get it off the car...
