Refund... Asap.. i would in no way stand for that.. that is horrible.. no excuse.. at all.. i have had 2 different shops do full cats back on my ranger and my a buddies vr6 for under 200 with buying the muffler and tips at there place with way better results and looks.. both my ranger and my buddies vr had to have to cat backs custom built to our cars and got bigger piping done..

I would straight bitch to their higher ups about your experience.. bet you get shit for free too.. Not that your looking for that.. jus saying.. it needs to be done and done right.

Wait im still trying to figure out how you didn't get hosed?!!
Those welds are pure chicken shit and clearly done by an amateur welder, better welder settings and anyone with half a brain would not have let that leave a shop.
Go get your refund that you clearly deserve and tell them to blow it out their asses if they dont want to.

That was $150 for labor only. And one small pipe. That's high but Adam just paid $100 to have a 12" pipe welded in that he supplied. Dan paid $100 to have a Vibrant muffler welded on that he supplied. Nothing is cheap around here, and I don't even have an issue with the price really. It's the quality of the work that is garbage.

^ Yup I agree. Around here, if you were there for 6 hours, they'd charge your ass another 4+ hours of labor in addition to your original "$150" quote. If anything have them touch up those fucking welds or whatever. They are like tack welds.

On a side note, part of my $100 install was them overlooking my lack of a cat. Not that it's a discussion. Generally speaking, decent exhaust work taint cheap.

My whole point was exactly what Adam said "decent exhaust work"
That is not decent, its not fair, its barely mediocre at best. The price is reasonable for the work if it was done right, instead They made you pay full price for half-assed work.

Oh well ill let it go, You like it how it sounds?

It's quiet... It's starting to get a little bit louder as time goes on, so we'll see. I miss the R&D sound, but anything is better than what I just took off. Also, I'm pretty sure I gained some of that low end torque back that seemed like it disappeared.

Also, I'm pretty sure I have a bad tie rod end, or steering rack is going bad... When I back out of my driveway then turn left I hear a nice audible clunk that sounds like something is loose.. I had the car up the other day and tightened all control arm, strut, and sway bar bolts and the noise is still there... Hope it's an outer tie rod but I don't think it is. It is now doing it while I'm driving if I pull away from a stop or turn left occasionally. Oh well. I need to figure out what it is, but it will remain for now.

When I had that problem / sound, my tophat had failed...although BCs make that highly unlikely.

haha exactly. no tophats with coils. The noise is definitely coming from underneath the car.

If you haven't done tie rod ends then thats probably what it is.

I did mine at like 45k.

Yeah... I haven't done them yet. Hopefully it's the outer and not inner. Will they crack/pop when turning? Never experienced bad ones.

Tips will be here today.

Seriously, I taught myself how to weld in minutes on my buddies welder and I welded up an exhaust that was FAR superior than that (weld wise)

My God... seriously, take that garbage back.
This. I can weld better than that with one eye. If the welder wasn't working properly they should've stopped, put it back together and told you to come back another day. That's gonna leak like a sieve.
Wheel gap FTL.

EDIT: I had a whole post about this exhaust and I accidentally closed the tab and lost it. I'm not re-typing it all.

Here's the welds. They're Magnaflow stainless steel tips.

The muffler is getting deeper by the day and actually is starting to sound really good. *almost* like the Thermal. It would probably sound better if I didn't have the two spiral flows, but whatever. The exhaust leak is a bigger concern to me. I'll have to get that handled.

Also, I lowered the rear of the car about another 1/4" of an inch. It looks good to me where it currently is.

Now to figure out what's broken on the front of the car...

Thanks Liz

And Manny, I actually wrote about how they pulled a Manny and left the 90* bends sticking out into the tip and I had to go in with a Dremel and cut the piece out... The post was lost though. It looks much better now.

Tips indeed CANNOT come up a bit. I had him angle them up as far as possible to minimize the gap. It looks good in person since the tips are flush with the bumper and not sticking out past it.

It's whatever. I'm in a bad mood today, and the car and all its nonsense can shove it. IDK if my camera can do that. I'll try sometime when I care more.

Without a rolled bumper (which I hate), a delete plate (which I hate) or paying a lot of money to have the bumper modified (I'm poor) I can't run anything other than a dual setup. At least they're bigger tips than an SRT, and they sit flusher. And they're stainless.
