Post by joeyz » Thu Sep 09, 2010 2:37 pm

when i was cleaning under the hood I snapped the part that connects windshield washer nozzle with the plastic 90 degree elbow that connects to it, any idea how to fix this... and where to get replacement parts? and how do i remove the nozzle? thanks

The nozzle itself has plastic tabs that lock it into place. I have yet to remove one without breaking it. Then again, I didn't care much since I was deleting them anyways.

I would imagine that the dealer is the only place to get replacement parts. I doubt any aftermarket OE part manufacturer would offer a replacement, but you never know these days.

had the same thing happen to me and this is what i did.
i took a set of those ricer led ones, clipped off the wires, and took some flat black spray paint and covered them. installed them with no issues and you cant tell they arent stock. They're even better than the stock ones since they have double nozzles on them which is a plus.

Mine are double too, but I want nozzles that spray in a "fan" pattern, not the crappy "jet" mode.

There are two tabs that need squeezed inward to get the nozzle to come out. You need to look inside the holes below to get a look at what I mean.

At some point, when I remember, I'm going to order some from the new Sebring. Those fan over the windshield which is what I like rather than a squirt. When I looked at the one s I had on my rental last year they looked almost the same size as the Neon's.

Lemme know how that goes. If they work, I'll be ordering a set too.

Maybe it's an "updated" part? Still have the P/N from them at all?

Use a flat scredriver to pry them up, a little from the rear then from the front, they will pop right up, never broke a set removing them ... what usally breakes is the 90 bend right below. You can find 2 and 3 jet ones on simular year dodge cars that will work. I think the fan type came out in 03 on the srt, but I might be wrong, they do break the most.

Some 00-02 neons came with either 2 nozzle or even a 3 nozzle setup. The 03+ neons came with the 'fan' nozzle, which i grabbed and prefer anyway.

I still like the ones on my Daytona that are built into the wiper arm. Although I've never had problems with the ones on my Neon, even though they are absolutely wedged against my older Vibrant strut tower bar.

It must have started sometime in the mid-03 run, because I have the horrible jets.

The design was changed mid way through 2003 to the fan style. It is drasticly better than the jet style used before.

And while the Sebring nozzles look the same, they are different underneath. The hole size and angle that the hose enters is different IIRC.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Fan is the updated version. I prefer fan... if you want an even spray across your windshield.. you'd stay away from the jet nozzles like the black plague.

my 05 has the fan ones but my 03 had the jets which i switched out for LED ones that never actually hit the windsheild... i just sprayed people on the sidewalk. then i upgraded to the fan ones that cover very nicely.
However is there any way to adjust the height on them because at stop it sprays the rest of my car.... not just the windsheild.

No way to really adjust them, unless you can shim them somehow, without it looking like you shimmed them.

That is one advantage the old metal tube one's had, you could bend them a little, to suit your needs.
