It's "Fuck it, gut it." Answers many problems.
Leaky tail lights, wet interior! - "Fuck it, gut it."
Bro threw up all over the back seat! - "Fuck it, gut it."
I'm tired of running 16's! - "Fuck it, gut it."
I'm tired of giving my loser friends rides! - "Fuck it, gut it."
My girlfriend wants to go out tonight! - "Fuck it, gut it."
So many neons so little time.

Gutting a car really wakes it up.

Awesome! I have the same cage. I can't see from the pics, but is it the cro-moly or the mild one? I went cromoly but that's just because I got it from another guy that was going to install it but never did.

The cage is mild steel erw. I migged it.
Did some more weight reduction today:
Gutted the trunk lid and installed locking pins.
Took out all the hinges etc from trunk
Took out wiper assembly
Got it smogged so I can now swap it. 2 years of no smog ftw!!!!

we read it, then get confused as to why the car would be at a SHIP getting torn down...

I like people who BUY a 10 sec car and then brag about it. Thats like hiring someone to bang your wife and then bragging about the kid

finally some updates. progress has been slow.
car up on jack stands
old engine out and on the ground.
took out the hinges and gutted the trunk lid. Now held on with locking pins...
dash torn apart...
pile of old wiring...
new dash wiring being ran.
air bag delete tray..
bare engine bay ready for stitch welding and wheel tubs.
here you can see the front end has had all the spot welds drilled out. The upper rad support will be removable for easier engine swaps.
the lower support has been removed and will be replaced with a 1.75" dom tube. The traction bars and radiator will mount to this. Overall i dropped a significant amount of weight and added strength/function.
the bracing for the traction bar setup.
and the manual rack i scored for 40 bux. alumablast paint does wonders!
THATS ALL FOR NOW!
thanks for looking...
