wrecked srt. pics of engine. opinions?
found one close by. went and looked at it today. no body parts from the front are good. passenger skirts are no good. and front seats have tears. what do you think would be a good offer to make?

Check real close for cracks in the bellhousing, and bellhousing to block mating area. Otherwise, you are just buying internals if the block is damaged.

100K is going to depend on how much it was run hard, and how well the coolant and oil have been maintained.
If it was pampered, it wouldn't be too bad.
Those seats won't bring too much, especially with that rip in a highly visible area.
I would offer 1500, and go from there. If you can score it at a low enough price, then it would be a good candidate to spend the $ you would have spent an an average salvage to freshen everything up. Then you know what you are going through the trouble to swap in isn't going to give you nit pick PITA costs/hassles of a 100,000+ mile turbo engine/MTX. Not saying they are unreliable at that mileage, but you don't know the history.
Edit: Hell it doesn't even have a dipstick in that pic. Unless it was just out when you snapped the pic. Seems a bit odd it isn't there to check the oil condition.

A lot of JY's will sell a complete car, or what's left of it. Or they may just let you remove the wiring/other odds and ends, and cut it off at the firewall.

Looks super well maintained...
I think you'd be better off finding a donor in better condition, one that looks like the owner actually gave a sh*t about. Think about it this way... lets say he does come down to 2k, then you start tearing into it and find out you need 1k in parts, or that the synchros in the trans are bad (typical), intercooler is damaged beyond repair, radiator is trashed etc... you would have been better off finding a better maintained car and pay more for it and not have anything else to do aside from swap it. Just be patient, these cars are getting more and more plentiful at low prices, I bought my donor car in '05 for 3750 and had to put about 1k in it to make it right. Now you can buy a complete car that needs some love but is drivable for 6K.
Just make sure you bring a competent friend with you and figure out what it will cost to make it right, then compare that to a larger initial investment on a better maintained car. My .02

Yeah I could see that being a money pit... with over 100k on it, im sure that thing has seen some abuse somewhere along the way.

Plus, they have that damn wing on the back that protects them from rear entry harm.

I'd say offer 1500. If the motor is a little beat you can put piston/rings it in for $500. Clean the motor up. Have a pretty newish motor. Cranks aren't known to pretty much ever have problems in the 2.4..
Oh and as far as the miles. There is a 50trim srt on srtforums with like 180k on it. Completely stock internals, and the car is daily driven/ at the track constantly.
