I've been working on a pair of side skirts for a while now, i always forget i have them so i never work on them. But I painted mine myself and they're lookin pretty good, just make sure you sand, prime, paint, clear.

they're not rotting, just collecting dust for a rainy day. I told myself to have them on by christmas but never happened. Also, its just the one that i have left to fix.

so does this mean its perfectly fine to drive my car? cuz i just started it up to take a drive down the street and right after start up it was making an unusual sound..

and...

could this have been caused by having too much oil? because i just got my oil changed and i think they put a little too much oil since the oil goes over the max line by about 4 cm..... maybe i should drain some oil.....

no. it's prob evap system leak small from what you posted. your gas gap probably is not tight.

Did you try to tighten your gas cap first?

Yes your car is okay to drive, take the cap off, put it back on, and reset the PCM to see if it comes back before you buy anything.

I'll try to tighten the gas cap, but how do I reset the pcm?

Take the negative battery terminal off for 5-10minutes and it should reset the light. Not sure if the SXTs have an ASD fuse like the SRTs, but that does it too. In the engine bay fuse box there's a yellow 20 amp fuse towards the fender and it says ASD. Pull that for 1-2 minutes and that works just as well.

inspected my gas cap and it looks flawless. the o ring doesn't have even
a single crack. i took out the fuse for about 3 minutes and that didn't do
much. i left my dome light on all day today though so now i think i might
need a new battery.. uber sad face..

If your gas cap is loose then it wasn't tightened all the way... has nothing to do with the o ring.

Need a new battery over a dome light?

I've left my fogs on on the new corolla for 5 hours at a time and either it started right up or just jump it.

engine light fixed! i finally got around to it.
next im going to get some tree pins for my new trunk lid carpet and then
try to tackle more rattles. im just glad my engine light was only for the
gas cap.

Finally got my trunk lid carpet in!

i bought out all of the push pins that the store had, and im still 4 short..
i really like it though! definitely beats the hanging wires and over spray!

Hell, Ive had two sets of R/T side skirts collecting dust in my garage for like 8 years. lol. And I didnt spend more than $100 to get BOTH sets. lol.

Actually, I do have a set in black, and silver. Theyre both pretty scratched up though. Will be getting fresh silver paint on one of them whenever I get around to getting my R/T front painted.

new pics are on the way, but there's a slight delay due to the fact
that i just got... well, i'll keep that part a secret

i can't wash my car until tomorrow, and i ain't taking picture with a
dirty ass car. but yes a few changes have been made. finally..

and yes i did throw on my lip kit, but only the front and back. still
waiting on those side skirts. but while i was putting on the kit i also
did a few other things:

- finished putting push pins in my trunk lid carpet
- removed grill inserts (prepping to paint)
- removed fog lights (prepping to tint)
- replaced stock front badge with a black and red punisher badge
