Thanks for the comments everyone; I appreciate it. I've kinda been slacking on this log!

Okay, you requested it and here it is, new 2nd gear pull video...yes I hit 85mph in 2nd. The factory tach stops working at 8k. I'll take an exhaust video once I finally get the idle right. It's super tricky.
New 2nd gear pull
Old pull w/ Comp 400

I can smell the clutch burning something fierce every time I go over 8k...Its going to need replacing soon, and before I hit the dyno. Can't wait to have something that grabs and doesn't slip all over the place.

I've been doing a few random things this week...well other than proposing! Mounted an automotive fire extinguisher to the passenger floorboard. Used some rubber vibration damper material on the fuel pump mount to quiet it down some. Removed some more engine bay wiring. Removed more of the asphalt sound deadener in the rear.

Oh, I also threw in some lower mileage rockers with better looking lash caps. Valvetrain was still looking great.

So the MPx Meet is in 10days...I would like to get the idle tuned before then. I also need to take a few hours and do some soldering to clean up some wiring. Aside from that, she's ready to go.

Jerry, yup the MTV is controlled by MS now, so the butterflies stay open. It has a new sound for sure now Manny, the idle is definetly more lopey too.

So, I'll get some more pictures when shes all cleaned up for the meet. I ordered some led tails since I tried to remove the niteshades from my stockers...they were pretty dark and kinda F'ed up from tree sap back when my car hydrolocked.
Image
I don't 100% love them, but they're a nice change of pace. I guess I just don't like the silver reflector around each of the leds, but they do look cool lit up.

Finished removing the asphalt deadener from the backseat area. Hit it up with some goo-gone to get the stubborn parts off. Now I'm working on getting it off the rear floorboards, then I'll move towards the front.
Image
Oh, I took an angle grinder to those studs that poke up for the seats. I was afraid I was going to kneel on one eventually.

I also relocated the MS box to where the radio use to be. I'll probaby screw it down on the lip so it looks like this.
Image

Now to go break into my car b/c I locked my key in there....whoops.

Isaac, I think I'm going to pass. If I did get a new hood, I think It would have a forward facing scoop. Thanks though!

Anthony...I'm guessing north of 185 at the wheels right now. It breaths so well at the top end, the torque just doesn't stop. The cluth it slipping pretty bad though. When I throw a new one in, hopefully I'll put some more torque down. I'll take it to the dyno then.

Ordered some new lugs that I liked as well. Should be here by friday.

See you tomorrow Isaac!

Cleaned up the car today...looks pretty good...It sure has a lot of cosmetic imprefections now......let's say it adds character.

Got the idle dialed in quite a bit more. It's really stable now, but at like 1.2 lambda. Need to richen it up and I think I'm good to go. The conditional idle advance helped tremendously. I didn't think it would.

Also, new lugs are on. Love these things. Decent price, forged aluminum, and red. The key is awesome b/c it removes the wrench from being close to the wheel and doesn't scuff the sides of the lug.

Woah, just saw the video. Sick run! I wish I can get my car to run like yours.

For the tails, I'm not really sure if I like them. But I bet they look awesome while lit up at night.

Tam, thanks dude. I pretty much feel the same about the tails. They're probably the best aftermarket one for the 00-02 I've seen though.

Before the Meet I removed more interior wiring. About half of the wires from the kick panel back could come out.
Image

New lugs look pretty sweet. Probably the last non-function mod I'll do to the car.
Image

Oh, also.....I picked up a little something at MPx when I was there.

I woulda come out! lol.

Jerry - Hell yeah! This and the clutch will be the last things I do to it this year....gotta save for the wedding in December...then.....next year..... :evil1:

Luis - Not yet man. I'm reading up on the parts I'm going to need for the lsd install. Gotta make sure I get everything we need. I think I'm going to get your clutch but sprung and a lightweight flywheel. I'm so tired of this one slipping.

Dude, you have no idea! That thing is crazy. It was tolerable for a while, but I'm thinking of relocating it directly under neath the trunk. Should be a quick thing to do.

Alright, so today after work, I took out the drivers seat and removed the deadner from underneath. Then I put the seat back in. I was going to start on the driver's floorboard, by the pedals, but I realized quickly that it was going to be the hardest section of all of them to remove.

Instead, I diverted my attention back to the dash. Took off the dash pad again and went to town. Dropped the steering column and removed the entire dash. Then I completely took out the entire HVAC assembly and hoses/tubes. Removed the deadner on the firewall while I was there too. I used a hammer to do something at one point in the process and manged to smash the ac cooler which started spewing liquid all over. So, I was in a rush to get that thing out of there!

Of course I took no pictures during the process lol. I reassmbled the dash w/o the HVAC and everything went back perfect. Its super hollow now, with tons of spare space.

It's pretty empty towards the front where the glove box use to be.

You can see a hole from the AC pipes that I need to plug in this one. There another one from the heater core I need to block off too.

He should be fine unless he uses too much NAWZZZZ, in which case his screen will flash "danger to manifold" telling him to back off. Should be fine.
