The org has a dedicated server, I don't quite understand why they have so much server space. My understanding is that if they were paying full price it would be in the hundreds of dollars a month. Maybe they are just bigger than I realize.

We had been using lunar pages for a hosting site but we outgrew that a few years ago (if you guys are bitching about downtime know, you should have seen it then).
Haha so you mean a virtual private server, gotcha. What other sites is the "org" hosting too, other than 1gn? I can try to hook you guys up with a cheaper VPS if you guys wanted, we have a couple racks up in STL and NY. I can talk to my boss, and try to setup a sweet deal if you guys are for it, LMK!

Yeah, that's what I meant, VPS.

1GN is our site and has no affiliation with the Org. The Org is all by itself, to the best of my knowledge.

Currently 1GN is on the old webhost as Jason just hasn't switched it over to the VPS. 1GN isn't big enough to have a problem on that host.

You can send an email to Jason with your offer for him to consider. He makes all those decisions as it comes out of his pocket.

I understand that everyone is doing the best they can. It doesn't bother me that much. I'm not going to cry. But just the fact it happens quite frequently now and it's been just shy off a month since I finally addressed the problem to the boards. Did not know if it was a big problem for others as well or just me. I guess you could just say that I'm addicted to the site and not being able to access it really "Grinds my gears" :D (Sorry just got done watching Family Guy). I'm finding more things to do on the forums now too. Also ya good point about clicking the posts since last visit. Never really thought of it since I do this on my iPhone so it's tiny.

Well let's hope this reset he did fixes this!

from what i can see its a freak thing that happened. The server went down and with all the issues we have had on the east coast it does not surprise me the server went down.
Just wait things out and 2GN will be right up again.....

So I've been in contact with the host about the slowdown we've been experiencing during the night. They came back with a possible solution so I gave them the go-ahead to give it a shot. This was on Sunday night into Monday. Taking a look at the forum these past few days it seems to have sped things up quite a bit and here at 2:39am ET the forum is still moving pretty quick without any hangups.

How's everyone else look? Still seeing any consistent slowdowns on your end?

Jason, I have not personally experienced a slow down. It's more so the site being down in general. Well not even the entire site. Just the forums section. Says something like phb error or something.

However thanks for your efforts in trying to resolve this. Hopefully whatever they did, may resolve this issue as well.

Thanks.

Just checking in... any issues to date?

It's been a couple weeks since they made the change and each and every time I've been on it's always moving quick. From my standpoint it appears the speed issue has been resolved.

Pretty stable on my end.

Out of curiosity Jason, how much are you paying for the hosting (if you can disclose this)? You running on a VPS?

Things have been excellent on my end.
