help with cam
help with cam
So I plan on goin to the junkyard tomorrow and im goin to look for a single cam. Is there a certain socket size or a specific tool i need to take it out? Cuz i dont wanna make my trip there a waste. Thanks guys.

You have to remove the torque struts, passenger engine mount plate and power steering. Then you'll be able to jack the engine up to take off the timing cover/belt and remove the cam gear so you can slide the cam out the driver's side. Before that you'll have to also take off the valve cover and unbolt the rockers.

go to the how to section and look up cam install...that will give you an idea what you are in for...
a full metric socket set, and torx (T55 I think), a jack and a friend who has done it before.
haynes manual will help too

it'd be easier to buy one from someone on here... no work and I guarantee you can find one dirt cheap if it's just an ordinary 2.0 cam
