SRT-D's Last Update...
As some of you know already, I had an issue with the car last Thursday. I was driving down the road and the car stalled out. When I tired to restart it, it caught fire.
The fire department was called immediately, but by the time they got there, there wasn't much left...
I don't know what caused it, and am not going to speculate, my insurance company has been amazing and got me a rental right away, and have been really good about keeping me informed about what's going on. If they determine what happened, I will post up so everyone will know what to check.
PS: GRAMPS! Don't have a heart attack. I am fine, and got out of the car quickly enough I didn't sustain any injuries.
On to the pics:

so sorry to hear.. this is why i'm installing a fire extinguisher in my
trunk. if this happened to my car, it would be extremely hard for me to
pick back up on the whole tuner theme.
glad you're okay though. keep us updated with insurance

HOLY CRAP! Thank God you're okay! Poor little Neon... and what is up with all of the fires recently? Guess that I had better acquire an extinguisher too.Canada wrote:GRAMPS! Don't have a heart attack. I am fine, and got out of the car quickly enough I didn't sustain any injuries.

I'm insured through Belair Direct / Nordic.
The fire definitely started underhood and quickly spread to interior. I wonder if its related to the fuel line that runs up the fire wall to the fuel dampner or one of the crappy clips that hold it all together.
As much as you talk about having a fire extinguisher, I assure you that it spread so quickly, and I was in such a state of shock, unless you had a full 20lb extinguisher, it wouldn't be much help.

My thoughts exactly, that line rots out on 2.0liters all the time. It's the only thing I can surmise that would cause that condition prior to the fire starting. You know I wish you the best and my eyes are peeled around these parts for you. Poor froggie faceCanada wrote:I'm insured through Belair Direct / Nordic.

Between reading about the Tage Evanson crash/fire and now this thread, makes me want to carry an extinguisher. I'm sorry to see this dude, so glad you're ok.
