I want to know what would be the best sounding option for an 02 R/T? i've heard tell of an exhaust system being able to make it roar a little like a subbie?
and how much would a R/T rear section fetch online here?
Thanks,
Xavier

That will not make the car sound like a subie, more Honda like. We can't really make our cars subie like. You can get an exhaust shop to put a Camaro style muffler in place of the rt muffler. I had a dynomax on my sxt and it sounded great. Louder than an rt muffler but deep and not droning too bad.

So many neons so little time.

I have the camaro muffler and I like the way it sounds.

Drove my neon until it was killed in a flood.

Best Sounding Exhaust
Will vary greatly, depending on each person's opinion....

i have an srt exhaust on my sxt with a 32" glasspack. not too many
people agree with the glasspack though because they say they fade
out and the exhaust just gets louder.. but i haven't noticed mine
getting any louder yet. it sounds good when driving and from standing
behind the car. its got a nice deep throaty rumble. i do like the R&D
exhaust too. thats really deep and mean.

Another idea would be to hit up youtube. Get an idea of what people are running and hear it.

Speaking of which. How long has that muffler been on the car? It seems like it has broken in quite a bit more than when I bought it.

I dissagree. LOL if one of your injectors doesn't work it sounds very much like a subie.

I had it on my silver car for 6 months or so and then on the sxt for like 3 months. So it was less than a year old when you got it. Does it still sound good is the question though!
If you use a flowmaster they never get louder since they dont have packing in them.

It sounds good, it does drone some now though which annoys my girlfriend. I feel bad for her when I drop the SRT motor in the silver beast

Bad plug wire worked awesome for me as far as getting mine to sound like a boxer. Sucks that it was in the middle of a snowstorm though.

But don't forget to also run it low on oil. Then you'll even get the classic Boxer mid-corner oil suffocation noise: "GUH GUH GUH GUH!"

Honestly, magnaflow sounds the best. There are certain flowmaster and dynomax mufflers that sound good, but I can't remember the part #'s. The flowmaster is way more expensive, but dynomax is in the same price range.

I totally forgot to mention borla, but in my defense they overcharge for their products just like flowmaster. I'm actually curious if they make a camaro muffler that we can use, never thought to look.

I always feel bad saying that because my car had the Borla cat-back system on it when I bought it, so it wasn't my wallet that took the hit. But seriously it is the best.
