IC looks nice, i say just trim the current bumper till it fits, like you said it makes your car unique.

yeah. i know. but the thing that worrys me is if i will loose performance from the ic not beeing all cooled equaly? not sure if it would heat soak from that only have half (if that) of the ic being used>?

Keeping it hidden partially is fine in most circumstances. What you gain by going with the bigger intercooler is more mass which means is takes longer to heat up, more surface area, which makes it disperse heat faster, and more flow so less loss and therefore greater turbo efficiency. (When there is more loss, the turbo has to work harder, which creates more heat, heat soaks the IC faster, and you end up with less dense air.)

So my recommendation given your application is this:
Fit it in there even if the flow isn't ideal. Your car gets going damn fast damn quick, and by the time the IC temp is significantly higher than ambient, you're already going 100mph+ and the flow at 100mph is ridiculous even if there isn't full exposure.

perfect. that was the answer i wanted to know erick. thanks alot. i just was not sure if the flow would affect the overall performance of the big ic.

i may do some trimming tommorw on my bumper to see if i can get it to fit.

i can get you a few when i pull the bumper off. and start to fix the rabbit damage from this last year on it. pritty much i just ran a peace of tape from one side to the other... then cut on that line.. it worked out well but i did not infact have to go the whole lenght.. oh well..

i maybe on the hunt for the stock fog light hole panels... to hid the ecu and what not. or i will just make my own.

i also set the grille in place to see how it will look... just saying the grille is deffenetly going in, but i now have a hard choice of were to mount my plate at on the front.....

car is coming along very fast. i should have my harnesses delivered later this week. and i am working on modifying my stock sliders to take the sparco seats.... hoping to have the harnesses and the seats installed by the next coming up weekend... then it is a waiting game for money.

i installed a manual trunk popper today. just incase my battery dies or what not seeings the battery is now in the trunk. and i have shaved the key lock.

i hope i will never need it, but i would rather be safe than sorry...

i have thought of doing something with the back wall... that would get rid of the stickers and i would carpet the whole back seat area... carpeting the sub box. and even the back wall.... it was just an idea right now. but i am not sure how it would look either...? ...?....?

i am hoping to get the car stored by the end of next week. before we get some big snow and i can not get it in the barn at my parents house, getting it out of my garage will help me do some side work and make some extra money for my new project starting hopefully next fall. :)

took a few pics today. i dropped off the cold side pipe to get some welding done on it. had to get my iac temp sensor drilled and tapped. along with my bov bung welded on... should have it tomorrow/friday i am hoping. :)

i had to cut two pipes and used a set of wire crimpers to make a bead on the pipe. (worked good, thanks for the tip erick )

the fit was great. very close to the body, and very tight and no more fucked up bends. so come carlisle we will not have a redo of the ohio trip a few years back.

nice and tight to the rad support.

well.... i got the itch on this car again..... pics....

Image

Image

the old setup is out.... i honestly never was a huge fan of it... i liked the box in the center but the rest never really fit in my eyes. several times last year i wanted to take a few people for a ride and could not.... hence why a backseat went back into it. if i would not have found a seat with adjustable headrest the car would have stayed the way it was. but i picked this seat up cheap at a local junkyard. soooo i had to...

yes they are out of a 01 rt, i think they came in only the rts with leather interior. but rummer has it that some did have cloth in 00.

i got these dirt cheap. this yard wants top dollar for engine parts but interor parts are cheap... a 25 dollar bill bought these seats. :) :)

Good pick-up man. I like it a lot better than your old set-up. Like you said, it was a good idea but it never quite flowed well.

thanks dante. i want to still fit the nitrous bottle in the center of the seat. but i am not sure if i am going to have the room or not. if not i am going to incorporate the bottle to the trunk and the new sterio system.

i have a few ideas for the new sterio. the one will be very hard to do... the other semi easy... but if i have to put the bottle in the truck. i will have to rethink everything.

i am going to go to my brothers and see what he thinks and go from there. if i have to put the bottle back there i am going to be short on room. seeings the battery is located back there as well.

alright. well i have been doing some work on the car lately. alot of things have just been tightening up things. and rewiring some stuff. i had to adjust the tractionbars alittle bit. the front bumper is STILL at the body shop, told them i had to have it by friday of this coming week.. .

anyway the layout for the system has been changed many times, but tonght my brother and i came up with a plan. more pics later. but the car came home to my house a few weeks ago.

a few pics.

Image

Image

Image

this pic... shows exactly how low these traction bars hang... i have yet to testdrive the car due to alot of stuff is loose in the car seeings the trunk and back seat area is torn appart so it would be hard to do hard pulls..

Image

i have done alot of things to the engine as well. right now the front of the engine wiring has been tucked better, and every wire is now colormatched. thanks alot srt_coupe for the deal on the harnesses... i also moved the headlight ballest as well to get them out of the engine bay and clean it up even more... i have a few more plans till the car comes out for the summer.

Image

Image

Image

i was using trailer wiring connectors for my ms to go back to stock ecu for inspection... but this time i did it right and got six wire weatherpack connnectors.

the most epic mod of the year...... coming soon. :)

i have been working about an hr or so a day on the car. and the wire tuck is now complete.

the system is almost done. i have to work out a few minor things. (hoping to have everything built and ready to be put together tomorrow after work)

originally i was going to get creative and mount the bottle in the back seat again... but now... i am not to sure... it gets alot of attention there at shows and what not... but i may just mount it to one of the bars in the trunk.... when the system is complete... i will make up my mind on that...

i should have my front bumper back from the body shop thursday. then the car will be complete again. :)

stay tuned.....
